Summary

Again, Again. Again and Again.
Wei Ying. Cheng Xiaoshi. No matter how many lives, he wanted to save him no matter what.
Lans love once, and it has only extended further each and every time. New names, new identities, new worlds, yet at its core is Wei Ying who cares so deeply for other people at the cost of his own expense. There are always some differences, little things and new sides to him that Lan Zhan is more than happy to explore.
Lan Zhan just wished fate wasn't so cruel as to make him witness his love die over and over again. Yet in his hands lay the key to fix everything, if only he could get it just right.
He wants to at least spend more time with this Wei Ying who will continue to forget the things they've already been through. Forget shared kisses and laughter and they will be strangers all over again.

Wei Ying hissed, wincing a little as he was dropped unceremoniously onto the ground, Lan disciples he didn’t know the name of letting him go.
They bowed towards Lan Wangji, who was standing in front of him, before leaving the room.
He rubbed at his back before looking up, still sprawled out on the floor. “Uh.. Lan Zhan? Where are we?” He’s never seen this room before.
“Wei Ying. You were brought here to face punishment.”
The ‘guilty’ party tilted his head, “For what?” He grinned, “Is this about that time I showed you that, Lan-er-Gege?”
Wei Ying batted his eyes, “I didn’t know you were so inexperienced in those matters, or I swear I would’ve been more gentle about it!” He snickered a little at how it sounded without context.
“Promiscuity is prohibited.” Lan Zhan stated.
He frowned in confusion, “Huh? Is that what this’ about?”

An incredulous "Whoa," behind Lan Wangji yanks him out of his meditative state. He spins around fast enough for his wet hair to stick to his cheek. His eyes widen in horror.
On the shore of the Cold Springs, Wei Wuxian stands, half-dressed in his own robes. He holds up Lan Wangji's heavenly robe, the fabric shining like spilled stars at midnight.
"Lan Zhan," Wei Wuxian breathes, a whole constellation reflecting in his eyes. "What's this? It's so—"

Lan Zhan dies two years before canon and promptly wakes up in the library at Cloud Recesses right across from Wei Wuxian, napping facedown in a pile of copywork.
He has a lot of questions. Is this the afterlife? If it's not, then is he alone with his memories? And most importantly, what does he need to do to keep his soulmate alive this time?
Wei Ying did not stir as he knelt down by the desk. It had been so long since Lan Zhan had seen those beloved features and even longer since he’d been allowed to either get or stay this close to Wei Ying.
He looked so different from Lan Zhan’s memories; apple cheeked, clean, and relaxed.
Lan Zhan clamped both hands over his own mouth to stop the pained noise that threatened to escape him. Hot tears spilled down his face as he watched the young, safe, and whole boy sleep. His stomach cramped with the effort of holding the sound in, but he’d sooner die than wake Wei Ying up.

“Da-shixiong.” Ning-shimei’s groan was barely audible to anyone who didn’t have a cultivator’s enhanced senses. To him and the rest of their assembled siblings, though, it rang out like a bell. The only one who didn’t notice was Shizun. He was up ahead and deep in conversation with the Lord who’d summoned them to investigate a series of local disappearances.
“I saw,” Ming Fan sighed. “Eyes front. Everyone knows their roles.”
Frankly, he’d been braced for this moment since he’d asked around about the family hosting them for the duration of this investigation. He’d discovered that they had two marriage-aged daughters in the household, neither of whom were engaged.

Summary
