Summary
Sam Winchester is standing barefoot in the middle of her backyard. Now, this alone is weird enough, but combined with the fact that all he’s wearing in this sub-ten-degree weather are boxers and a light shirt, and he hasn’t moved an inch in the whole five minutes she's stood at the back door watching him, Jody’s starting to feel more than just a little concerned.

Summary
The only reason Sam’s upright instead of collapsed on the floor is because Dean’s got him pinned to the wall, so really, he ought to be grateful. Then again, it was Dean who broke his legs in the first place, so on second thought, maybe not.

Summary
It starts with a bruise: mottled blues and purples that stand stark against the too-pale skin of his neck. At its centre, a slight divot, about the size of his thumb. The only reason he’s paused to give it thought at all is the location, where just two weeks prior, feral teeth sank deep and left him with what should have been (or what was, for all of an hour) a fatal wound.
Or: Sam was brought back wrong, but it’s not that big of a deal. There are far more important things to worry about.

Summary
They still use the same shopping list they started when they first moved into the bunker. A scrap of unlined A5 taken from the back of whatever notebook Sam had on hand at the time, edge jagged from the way Dean carelessly tore it out. It bobbles and frays further with every touch, the old, blotchy biro coating it still somehow stains their fingertips a faint blue, and it’s well past time to throw it away, but neither of them bothers.
Or: Sam goes to the grocery store and contemplates food, family, and free will.

Summary
Sam’s curled up tight in the backseat of a beat-up Dodge Charger, pale-faced and scratched to all hell and looking so fragile it wouldn’t be a surprise if so much as a gust of wind sent him crumbling into dust. But he’s also asleep, and that alone quashes any doubts Dean might have had about bringing him home.

Summary
ALL the spoilers for episode 14X13, "Lebanon".
This is a one-shot about the aftermath of the unexpected visit, particularly for Sam. Because you KNOW the brothers will just be good as new come Thursday night, and I'm having none of that. Nope.
The title is a line from Bob Seger's "Till It Shines", which was used in the episode. Felt appropriate for what Sam experiences here.Bookmarked by Where_the_moon_isnt

Summary
Rowena tells him about how the first time an older witch sat her down in front of a hearth and taught her a simple fire-starting spell in Latin, it felt like she found something that should have always been a part of her.
She’s a natural witch, she says. She says it with pride. Sam wonders what it’s like to feel pride in being born different.

Summary
"So, I mean, yeah, I didn't know about the shtriga, or the poltergeist in DC or the shifter in New Orleans, but I was still there, you know? I just didn't know they were monsters, that's all."
Dean has never really considered what their childhood must have looked like from Sam's perspective, back when they were still keeping the truth from him. He might have been better off not knowing.

Summary
"On any other day, in any other year, maybe, he’d doubt what he was seeing. But over the past couple months Sam’s supped with God and the devil, had a hug from his long-dead mom, seen his brother restored to life. So yeah, maybe he’s never quite sure that this isn’t an hallucination; not sure that he isn’t in the basement with the British, in the cage with Lucifer, in another of the Wednesdays that just won’t end. But in this reality, whatever its authenticity, what he’s seeing now outside the bunker isn’t alien enough to shock."
Jessica Moore comes back to life. She's not what Sam expects.

Summary
Sam finishes the trials, expecting to die. Instead, he gets a life that sounds idyllic - the demons locked away, the angels gone (mostly), and Dean by his side.
All he has to worry about is the various monsters attempting to fill the power vacuum; a too-empty bunker; his own deteriorating mental health; Dean’s dive back into alcoholism; and not getting enough sleep (even for him). Oh yeah, and that pesky fact that his dreams are starting to seem a little bit too much like visions. He can handle it. He can.
(Sometimes he can’t.)
If this is healing, Sam sure doesn’t want to know what deterioration looks like.
