Summary
Damian may be in love with him, but he does have enough respect for himself to not let that love continuously lead him blindly into more hurt and unfulfilled expectations.
At least not today. Today he refuses to settle for this torture, because Damian does not want him for only a night. Nor a day. A week. A month. A year.
Only forever will do, and forever does not sit behind that door. Forever will not come if he lets Richard kiss him, only to push Damian away any time a kiss might become more and he remembers his morals, or whatever his excuses are masquerading as.
Damian is not a good person, but he is still a person.

Summary
Jason’s laugh is a sound that curls up in Damian’s chest and takes residence there, warming him in a way entirely unique to his arousal. It intensifies every feeling, makes those jolts of electricity into bolts of lightning. “No underwear, no sports bra ‘r binder, prepped hole—yeah, my little prince. “I do.” Damian confirms. “This one was four days. The next one will not be shorter.” It’s so matter of fact, so utterly unbothered that it bothers Dick. He shouldn’t—can’t—let it bother him, but it’s hard to deny the unpleasant emotions swirling in his stomach with everything so close to the surface and Damian keeping it there with his lips on Dick’s mating gland.
Stamping down the green eyed monster he harbours behind his ribs, Dick continues. “So you’re ready to select an alpha for your first full heat?”
Damian picks his head up finally to scowl at Dick. “I will not be spending my heat with an alpha.”

Summary
Every word just sets him up for failure. Every word makes it harder for Damian to look in the mirror. He doesn’t know how to explain to the man he’d kill for, live for, die for, that every affirmation actually makes Damian hate himself more. He doesn’t know how to explain to the man he wants in a way he shouldn’t, that being compared to him feels like filleting his very soul.
Damian wasn’t built to be a hero.
