Summary
Dick Grayson is having a perfectly lovely evening playing cave tag under Gotham with his siblings when a bright blue blast drops them straight into a new dimension, completely with weirdly innacurate Norse gods, a new government agency, and a world with superheroes that doesn't call them superheroes yet.
All the Batkids want is to get home, but they have to find Loki and the Tesseract first, and what's this weird sub-agency in SHIELD's newly hacked files?
First chapter written for the Birdwatchers 2025 Word Challenge, Day 90 — Dimension

Summary
Lying in the bottom of a too shallow foxhole while bullet after German bullet whistled over his head had sadly become an all too common occurrence for Thomas.
Lying in the bottom of a shallow foxhole with William Mason pressed against up against him on one side, Matthew Crawley against the other, and Lord Grantham sprawled in the mud at their feet though? That was a little bit more unusual.
“Well then chaps,” the Lord turned Lieutenant-Colonel huffed with entirely too much forced cheer. “I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’m solidly of the opinion that we’re utterly ruddy ballocksed!”

ch 15
Thomas’s sister and her kids are killed on the Titanic. Thomas finds out during Upstairs breakfast from Grantham’s newspaper headline and has a small breakdown. Grantham is sympathetic and understanding, but Carson is furious and thus starts on a crusade to nitpick and criticize Thomas to death. Bates arrives that same day and Thomas shows him the ropes while still shell-shocked at the news. Losing his sister has Thomas acting much more subdued and brooding. He has a huge blow-up at O’Brian- her scheming seems petty and meaningless now- and afterwards decides to be nicer out of spite of her. He’s still very grumpy and can be mean, but no longer speaks as cuttingly and is more patient with those under him. Bates heard his fight with O’Brian and knows what happened to his sister, but Anna and Will (and the rest of his peers) don’t know. Since Thomas stopped antagonizing everyone and Bates likes him, Anna and then Will have become his friends- almost against his will lol. As Valet, Bates tries to check O’Brian’s nastiness AMAP, but she’s decided that Thomas is her nemesis and he is the target of most of her scheming. However, Thomas helped in the Pamuk situation and has the endorsement of Bates, so Grantham has a very good opinion of him and has discussed with Cora that O’Brian’s nastiness is becoming a problem. So while Cason and O’Brian would be happy to see Thomas fired, the rest of the staff as well as the Lord and Lady like him quite a lot. Cora and Grantham have even decided to use his “otherness” to their advantage by posting him as a trusted chaperone for Sybil in her first Season out in London society. O’Brian’s current scheme is cooking in the background- Carson has received reports from her (and presumably Daisy- Thomas snubbed her at the fair and she was furious) of an inappropriate relationship between Thomas and Bates. They’ve denied it, but Carson is now hunting for any hint of truth. While they’re in London, the first rumblings of WWI start, but war itself hasn’t broken out yet. -

Summary
Six months ago, Renegade broke free from his master. He’d had no home. No family. Had learned nothing beyond what he'd needed to be a predator.
Now free, he has vowed to use those skills to help instead of hurt.Only Nightwing really shouldn't have picked Blüdhaven for his debut. The neighbors in Gotham are kinda... a lot.
Like, A LOT a lot.

Summary
When she first met him, she’d assumed Clark Kent–solid, Midwestern, unassuming, non-demanding–would favor a beer and maybe a shot on the side if everyone else was partaking. She could peg him as maybe having a craft beer if he was feeling adventurous or a whiskey sour if he was really feeling like something on ice or just wanted to seem interesting in a group setting, but she hadn’t expected anything out of the norm.
The first time they’re at a bar for an unofficial team happy hour on a Friday night and he orders an honest-to-God Shirley Temple, then, she’s thrown.
“No one drove here,” she offers. “You don’t have to DD.”
Clark shrugs, looking mildly bashful the way he usually does when anyone’s attention is focused solely on him when he wasn’t expecting it.
“I’m not really a drinker,” he says, almost apologetically, even as he accepts his drink from the bartender, the glass looking almost comically dainty in his hands, which just adds to the comedy.
Lois, though, just shrugs. Everyone needs a quirk, after all, and there are worse ones to have than not drinking.
(clark kent doesn't drink) (lois uses this to her own benefit)
