Summary
He wanted desperately to go home and hug Papi. He wanted to make his world-renowned tacos and enjoy a real meal that didn’t just taste of greasy sauces or Styrofoam. He wanted to see Alphys again and show her how much he had improved and beg to finally be accepted into the royal guard.
But he knew he couldn’t.
If he went back there as he was now, Dream would immediately pick up on his distinctive brand of positivity. He always did when Blue tried to sneak away for a couple of days after a fight with Ink. And then he would be dragged back and the cycle would continue.
But maybe…
Well, maybe, if the King of Negativity was just as cruel to his henchmen as Ink and Dream always said, there was a way for Blue to ruin himself enough that there would be no positivity left in him for Dream to track. And then, finally, he could go back to his AU.
Mind set on that half-arsed plan, he met Error’s eyes once more, this time with true determination shining through his faint eye lights, and said: “I want to go to Nightmare”.
---
Left stranded in a dying AU by his teammates Blue is left with an important decision to make about his future. Who knows if he made the right one...

Highly rec for amazing Blue characterization. He felt like an amazing individual that's definitely set apart from the typical Blue bubbly personalities out there. Each chapter is a rollercoaster to read with Blue's thoughts integrated heavily in the narrative. (The yapper in him doesn't stop, I love it) The leading plot is simple but I can see how these characters are able to grow from it.
Found family with the Nightmare gang, very cute. Each alternates felt like different people. They really feel like a band of quirky misfits who are brought together under Nightmare's goopy umbrella and not some murder happy people. They're more developed past their trauma and found comfort in each other.
Swap Papyrus felt a bit too similar in characterization with his brother. His portrayal isn't bad but it feels like I'm still reading Sans' part. Perhaps author wanted to show the similarities in them, how they had shaped each other, and still ended up walking similar paths despite being away from each other for a long period of time. All my opinions and speculations though!
Wished there was more Ink scenes with Blue as it looked like he was also a victim of Dream's. However, with his chaotic nature and Blue's distrust, it felt normal for the story to divert from the artist. This could be due to the choice of narration.
Wished the narrative isn't just locked to the swap brothers because the nightmare gang was definitely an interesting bunch + Ink and Error. But interesting side characters like these make me more inclined to continue reading. We see everything from Blue's perspective and he has his own journey to walk.
The ending was both satisfactory and felt like its missing something. Again, it could be just the restrictions of the swap brother's narrative, but past that it was a happy ending well deserved.
