The usual reply is on the tip of her tongue, a lighthearted crack about playing Words with Friends on a burner phone. It’s the anecdote she’s told those clearly wanting a feel-good answer. But there’s something in his eyes when he asks the question—could it really be tenderness? Surely not, only no other word comes close to doing it justice—and she’s reminded that she never has to put on the same performance for Hotch.
“Are you familiar with the Musée de l’Orangerie?” she asks in return.
