The moment the clock strikes 1:30 pm, Jeff slips on his shoes, tugs on a jacket, grabs his car keys and sets out into the cool afternoon, sitting silently in his car, waiting for it to heat up. Between 1:40 and 1:45 is when Vinny comes out of the house, apologizing every time for trailing behind, and Jeff forgives him every time as he settles into the passenger seat and they peel out of the driveway.
(In which Jeff and Vinny pick Alex up from school, and Jeff has a lot of feelings about it.)
