In an effort to create what where effectively human weapons of war, they (the SUPER SUSSY GOVERNMENT!!!! /hj) fucked with genetics, about 20 years prior, and now a bunch of people have DRASTIC increases in their senses. The project was abandoned and buried, but the subjects weren't, though most of them died either by suicide or targeted killings.
Alor... was not one of them. Cursed with the ability to hear a pin drop on the other side of the planet (figuratively), she is taken in by a sketchy research foundation, whose equally sketchy headquarters reside in an abandoned island hospital. She, among numerous other prisoners, are kept and experimented on for months, in hopes of possibly reverse-engineering the program and starting it back up.
