Summary
There are three pressing issues that James Potter currently needs to deal with. Firstly, he is now a retired army doctor who suffers a bad leg, anger issues and a mind that struggles to adjust back to civilian life in London. Secondly, he's in the midst of finding a place to stay and, based on how wonderfully army veterans are paid by the AFPS, in desperate need of a flatmate. The last and most pressing matter, James is really fucking bored.
Regulus Black, consulting detective, just finished packing up the rest of his late uncle's belongings while insisting to his brother that he is fine, and that he doesn't need a bloody flatmate. Both Sirius and the landlady Mrs Figg beg to differ. For if not to help with rent, it is clear as day to anyone who know him, that Regulus is really fucking lonely.
So when Sirius Black gets the idea to pair them up as co-tenants in the flat of 221B Baker Street, the younger Mr. Black finds himself constantly accompanied by a grumpy army vet -who never shuts up, while Dr. Potter gets swept up in a lifestyle like no other.

Summary
James doesn't remember much more than his first name when he wakes up in the maze. In fact, it's the only thing he remembers—and meeting Regulus for the first time almost makes him forget it again, but that's neither here nor there.
Regulus has been in the maze for much longer than James, knows its dangers and enigmas well enough by now—but when he stares down at their most recent newcomer, he can't possibly predict that everything is about to change.
Neither of them knows yet why they are trapped in this deadly puzzle, or what lies beyond it; and neither can fathom how far they will have to go to get out of it alive, nor how it will cost them so much more than what they are willing to pay.
Pawns trapped in a deadly game of riddles whose only solution seems to be death, love so brutally challenged it can only turn into grief, and a world falling apart in tune with its people, who can only watch as the fresh blood on their hands dries into sorrow.
Welcome to the Maze.
