Mydei almost snorts at the way Phainon’s jaw clenches, invisible to an untrained eye.
“Perhaps another time?” Phainon laughs easily, placing himself at Mydei’s side and smoothly extracting him from the woman’s grip. He places his hand on Mydei’s nape in a friendly manner, tugging lightly on his hair. “We have some important business to attend to right now. Sorry to take Mydei here away from you, I’m sure he was having the time of his life.”

“You call this a fresh start?” She questions with disbelief, stubborn as ever. “Murdering people who have loved you and put their trust in you, because that’s what your psychotic boyfriend wants?”
“Ouch,” Scar laughs at his side, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he nudges Rover. “I think you are being a bit unfair to both of us. After all, Rover is the one who came to me and proposed the plan we have been following for years now.”

Summary
As Kaveh looks around the room and takes in the little pieces of the life they’ve built—Alhaitham’s cloak tossed over the back of Kaveh’s desk chair, their two instruments leaning back to back against the shelf, the pot of coffee Kaveh had bought Alhaitham for his birthday and the twin cups Alhaitham had bought for Kaveh in return—all he sees is a home filled with so much joy that it feels like it will overflow, oozing out of the crevices between the walls to spill out onto Treasures Street below. If he can make a home half as good as this for somebody else, then any long trek into the desert will surely be worth it.
A mysterious client commissions Kaveh to build a home for his fiancé. Seeking inspiration for the project, Kaveh decides to bring Alhaitham along on a trip to the Eternal Oasis.
