Ben finds a portrait of himself in the dumpster outside of his building. Curious about the mystery of its creator, he's more consumed with solving the tension between he and his neighbor, Rey.

It’s his face.
It’s slightly crumpled and the light is highlighting the ridges from brown, recycled paper, but it’s his face.
He’d know it anywhere, or at least that’s what anyone would say when they see the same thing in the mirror everyday, but here it’s on paper and currently lining the dumpster outside of his apartment building on Orchard and Main, where one of the few alleyways left in the purge of the old system has him standing at the side of the building, two large bags in hand and staring at his face on brown paper.

Summary
Rey volunteers at a rehabilitation facility to read to the blind. She’s loved reading and books for longer than she can remember. She finds that she loves reading to others even more so. However, she’s suddenly thrown into the headspace of trauma patient Ben Solo, who has a knack for upending everything she thinks she knows about books and the power of the written word…as well as a few other things.
