Characters and stories often go through drastic changes from when they're initially created, to when the completed work is released. This is the first "game" in a series which shoves the finished characters through a mirror, then pushes them right back into a killing game once they've become reverse images of themselves.
We join the very normal SHSL Lucky Student, Maeda Yuki, for his very normal orientation for his first day at the very normal school of Hopes Peak Academy. This government funded school of privilege has gone from death of the soul, to plain old death. There's the risk of stabbing, strangling, bludgeoning, crashing, hacking, igniting, or whatever else the fifteen students may come up with, but with risk comes reward; Maeda meets many an ally, and some people who... well, it'd be wrong to say he wouldn't mind if they fell victim to murder, but... Ultimately, Maeda would rather not die, thank you very much, so consider reading along to assist him through investigations, trials, and his tendency to pass out.

Summary
Waking up from a dream is disorienting when you don’t even know you’re sleeping. It’s even more disorienting when the only thing I can see when I open my eyes is black, sort of swirling. There’s almost no difference between my eyes being open or shut. I can’t describe it in as many words, not in any language I know. It’s negro, noir, schwarz. Black as far as I can see. Nothing more.
Ishikawa Camila, SHSL Linguist, thought she was going to get a normal school life. She couldn't have been more wrong.

iris here (finally got an account!), and this is so good!! nakamura is my fav, yet all the characters are so well written! the story is so good, it’s an excellent mystery, and i genuinely cannot see where it’s going! i can’t wait till it’s done!
