He wasn't a Player. He didn't have a communicator to check his server, because he'd never needed one. He'd been confined to traveling freely between a few of Grian's servers. He'd never needed to go anywhere else. Why was he somewhere else?
He needed to find Grian. Or anyone else, really, but Grian would be preferable, or maybe Mumbo if Grian wasn't available. He needed to go home.

Grian's life on Hermitcraft is just a respite from being a Watcher. The deal was that Grian had one life, one chance, as a player, and when his inevitable end happened, his service as a Watcher puppet would resume. He thought he had plenty of time, a full life, he was promised. Then he died; so suddenly, and he pleaded relentlessly for another chance. Surprisingly, the agreed, as long as he did one simple thing

Joel landed carefully next to him, letting out a little giggle. “Jeez, Jim, does being a toy mess with your balance too?”
There was no response, and the god frowned.
“Jimmy?”
Joel poked the other man’s form with the toe of his sandal. The sheriff didn’t move, or even stir, just letting the force shift his body for a second. If the god squinted, it looked like the blonde wasn’t even breathing.
Or, Joel is an idiot and doesn't know how mortals work, and Jimmy gets locked out of his body as a ghost.

Tommy couldn’t seem to stop waking up drowning. He usually managed to claw his way back to the surface before the air pressure got too much. This last time was no accident. But he woke up coughing up sea water regardless.
Gem had fished up a lot of things at her rig in the reef, but the child in the crate for big fish was a new one. She’s just glad she got to him on time, seeing as he was literally throwing up water. Ick…
