    “What are you?!” Jackson screamed, horrified. The boy was unbothered, and smiled sickeningly sweetly at him.
    “I am a Watcher,” the boy replied, his wings fluttering. “My name is Zdzisław.”
    “Is that Polish?” Stiles asked excitedly, and Zdzisław confirmed his statement. The boy grinned immediately.
    “Now,” Zdzisław announced. “It is time. Please sit down. We shall begin watching momentarily.”

    Reaching up with one hand to rub at his shoulder, trying to ease some of the pain in the muscle there, he wandered back to his bedroom and kicked the door shut behind himself. He’d only just turned towards his bed to fall face-first onto it—fuck the lights, he’d leave them on, he did not care—when movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention and his heart dislodged itself into his throat.

    He ended up doing a weird half-turn pirouette kind of move, lost his balance, tripped over a pair of pants and landed face-first onto his bed.
