Summary
It’s not that Tommy doesn’t like skating. He loves it- or, he used to love it. School and friends and everything got in the way, and he just started feeling less… passionate about it.
He’s been thinking about giving up recently, but each time he looks at his skates he thinks- wow, those cost nearly a thousand dollars. He’s not about to go wasting his parents money like that, so he pushes through.
Even if it kills him a little inside.
/or, Tommy's not as passionate about skating as he used to be. Maybe Wilbur can change that?

“If you’re trying to distract me you’re not doing a very good job,” mumbled Tommy even though he was positively dozing off. Wilbur chuckled, flicking Tommy between his eyebrows, making the latter glare at him.
“Thought I didn’t. But I’ve told you before-“
“Yes, but you haven’t explained it,” Tommy interrupted. “You just said ‘it would be better like this’ and started this game of avoiding the question.”
Alright, ignoring the horrible impression Tommy made of Wilbur, the man had to admit that he’d been rather cryptic about the whole thing.
But how are you supposed to explain that you’ve grown attached to a literal child and now you can’t rest until you’re sure that respective child will be okay, that he will be protected and kept away from horrible humans and wild vampires?
