“Don’t you have investors to meet, Viktor?”
No faceless man has ever looked more confused. Though Viktor never stops walking, his pace certainly slows as he thinks. Human moments like these fill Jayce with an incomparable satisfaction, when he gets to watch part of that perfect facade crumble. “Remember? The whole reason you’re in Piltover to begin with?”
“…Oh.” Viktor’s whole body relaxes. For the first time, he lets out one big laugh, his whole body vibrating with the motion. “No. I lied.” So they continue down the hall, and Jayce feels like he’s been run over with a tractor.
After a long period of no contact, Viktor and Jayce meet again by chance at a Progress Day celebration. Jayce finds this incredibly suspicious and takes it upon himself to watch Viktor for the evening. When it becomes apparent that Viktor is, in fact, up to no good, he's roped into a situation with his old friend that he hadn't anticipated.

It was happening more often now that he was surrounded by these new, strange humans. Something about being stuck in a literal cage made this feeling buzz under his skin, in his teeth and his fingertips. It was relentless. The bars around him would get bigger and bigger as he felt smaller and smaller, until he was just a trembling speck in a body he couldn't fill the shoes of.
