Summary
Dusk falls fast around you, the taunts and jeers of your pursuers as ominous as the howling of wolves, and you sprint harder, the air burning in your lungs.
‘Don’t stray off the paths’ you’d been warned when you first arrived at the quaint village. The forest around the paths and at the edge of town was bright and airy--alive with an abundance of bird song and the rustle of squirrels and other small animals scampering about the sun-dappled mossy floor. The woods you run through now, however, quickly grow dense and dark, becoming more and more difficult to navigate. You have no idea where you’re going, but you don’t have the luxury of time to reconsider. If you stop, you’ll die.

Sansa paused in wiping off the clots of blood dripping from Petyr’s nose to look down at the growing crimson stain adorning his white shirt, paler than it would be if they hadn’t been soaked to the bone, listened to the crescendo of sirens approaching to her right, and glanced at the fire consuming the most venerable (and evidently, flammable) restaurant in King’s Landing to her left. She scoffed. “In what possible way could it have turned out worse than this?” A crescendo of shattering glass punctuated her statement as the beautiful facade finally succumbed to the flames. The huddled masses of patrons and staff around them in varying degrees of distress drew back further from the burning building.
“No one actually died."

She couldn’t afford to pay it any mind, too focused on trying to breathe, lungs desperately pulling against the barrier of the hands around her neck, windpipe crushed in a cruel grip. She should never have gotten in the car. She’d thought, foolishly, that she could talk to him, resolve things, settle them once and for all. He’d had the same idea, apparently, but a much different outcome in mind. Girls didn’t dump Joffrey Baratheon, he’d informed her before lunging for her throat; he decided when he was done with them. And he’d decided he wasn’t done with her. Now she was going to die for her stupidity--

Her door is unlocked; he knows he is welcome. He eases it open on oiled hinges, slipping inside silently. Gone too is her lumbering protector, likely dismissed hours ago. The giant of a woman may suspect something untoward--she levels that sour look at him often enough--but she’s too doggedly loyal to disobey her lady’s command. The room is dim, lit by torchlight and the fire in the hearth, and his love is absent at present. He drops to his knees in the space’s center without being ordered, his head bowed; disobedience won't serve him well, at least at this stage in the game. Then he waits, impatience buried beneath the calming notion that he is at least guaranteed to touch her tonight, if nothing else. The cold stone is murder on his joints, but he’s already half-hard and he hasn’t even looked at her yet.

The prison she’d been dragged to to while unconscious was cold and damp, and her summer dress did little to shield her from the bare concrete and unforgiving iron. They’d even taken her shoes, as if she would’ve been able to stab someone through the bars with the dull point of the heel. She wished she were back in Winterfell; not even its icy stone could ever be this cruel. If they’d never left home, traveled south at the bidding of a king and his monstrous offspring, none of this ever would’ve happened.
