Summary
She wants to do a lot of things, but she doesn't. She wants to say it's because she knows better than to start something with Valentina in the public eye, but she can't. Not when her hands are shaking and there's sweat beading on her forehead.
She bites her wobbling lip as she tears her gaze away from Valentina's paws on Bucky, passing to Alexei and Ava's stares. A look that reminds Yelena of when Natasha saw something foul in the streets and rushed in to stop it.
None of them rush. None of them move. And when she blinks, it's over. Valentina stalks over to the front as she chatters on, and her shadow covers the flashing cameras for a moment. Yelena spares a look at Bucky, but he's looking away already.
Her stomach flips, and she tries to ignore the way her lip wobbles and her eyes burn.
Yelena and her ability to somehow let everything fly by, including the things she stops her hands from reaching.
NOTE: please read author's note for further warnings! This explores both Yelena and Bucky's trauma and while nothing is explicit, this is not subtle. Please be careful!
