Summary
Haunted by an irreparable mistake, Phainon lives life in infinite cycles.
Mydei steps infinitely closer to him, his hand ghosting against Phainon’s face and for a second, Phainon sees the former smile of his lover, soft and understanding and patient. Then Mydei grabs his jaw with a bone crushing grip, forces him down to his knees and the moment is gone.
“You will, Phainon of Aedes Elysiae,” Mydei hisses, poison in every word, “You will always fail to save me.”
Phainon can only look up at him, memorizing the way the gold flakes in Mydei’s eyes move, and repeat, “I’ll save you, Mydei, I swear it.”
