Summary
How any of them ended up in this whole situation was a mystery. Regardless of how it came to be (and regardless of how much of this ordeal was Draxum's fault), they now had a bundle of baby mutant turtles under their responsibility. Such a thing can only be so easy when stuck co-parenting with someone you barely know but have every reason to hate just the same
Or, a take on the 'Splinter and Draxum raise the turtles together' AU that allows most of Rise canon to still happen... with a twist :)

Summary
Despite many years of genuinely believing he despised this rat, Draxum was still attracted to him. He arguably became more attracted to him in time, seeing his softer side, being his support on dark days. It feel evil to lust over him to this level, but it was something he was taking to his grave.
That is, until Splinter managed to locate his gravesite. He may as well die on the spot now.

Summary
Splinter, or formerly, Lou Jitsu, had one thing in mind when he began to seriously court Baron Draxum: freedom. This yokai offered him freedom and love to a degree he wanted ever since he was last betrayed by the prospect, and the only exchange that was ever wanted out of him was some of his DNA. He had no reason not to trust Draxum, having grown to genuinely love him, after all
He had no way of knowing what would find him instead
He had no way of knowing how much he would regret the turn his life took now...

Summary
Draxum is a yokai not without his faults. With such a short timeframe to show his personality during his 'redemption arc', many believe him to have not changed at all, even if he is shown to be part of the clan by the end of the season
I would only be fair to give him what the show didn't have, then: more time to prove himself
or, when each Hamato Clan member comes to accept Barry as someone they either now tolerate or learn to accept as part of their strange little family
