Kenma doesn’t know if Kuroo is at the hospital more than he is. He thinks about Kuroo, alone in the ward with no one to talk to. Or maybe making friends with one of the other patients. Kenma’s stomach twists uncomfortably. It’s stupid to feel so possessive of a friend. He doesn’t feel that way with other people, but with Kuroo it’s different - their time apart doesn’t make them distant, they could leave a conversation unfinished and then pick it up months later as if it’s been only minutes.
Or: Kenma and Kuroo meet at the hospital when they're young. And then they keep meeting there.

As Yahaba comes to the end of the hall, he sighs before stepping through the blue curtain and into the bath. He knows the most exhausting part of the day is behind him and all should be a relaxing, detangling process from now until he finds himself asleep but—
He grits his teeth harshly.
“What are you doing here so late?” He asks before Kyoutani has the chance to.
“Could ask you the same."
Or, Kyoutani and Yahaba spend an evening in the onsen.
