Niko grins, a flash of bright warmth, real warmth, that contrasts with the laptop’s harsh electronic glare. ‘Tell me which part of that is inaccurate, and I won’t.’
‘Are you sure you’re sensitive?’
‘I think that’s the thing you hate most about me.’ Adept as always, Niko sidesteps the stalemate trap. When Fabi shifts uncomfortably, Niko cocks his head, a small, mischievous smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. ‘And no objections to my good looks, I see.’

I have eyes to see, Ian. That is how I keep finding the bugs. They are rather hard to miss if you play anything other than bullet. But unfortunately you only ever seem to be playing bullet when I pass by your desk, so I suppose that is why everything “always works” on your machine.Or: an AU in which Ian writes bugs (among other legitimate software), Fabi finds them, they argue (over the existence of the bugs and the need to fix them), and fall in love.
