Summary
Evan had been watching his parents out his window for the past few months. He never told Maddie out of fear of what they’d do to her if they found out she knew. So he just watched, making sure that those boys, his friends, never really died alone. He didn’t actually watch the first time, but the next day when he went out to play in the yard he found Harley’s bloodied and cracked skull under the raspberry bush. After that he started paying more attention, watching as the axe hit the thrashing bodies until they stilled and then continued to hit after, reminding him of the one time he and Maddie made salsa together for her cooking class.
He knew it was his turn. He’d figured out why they were doing what they were to those boys and figured he was next, so when something just felt off that night, he knew that his time had come. That’s why he left the moment he saw a boy he’d never seen before getting dragged into the yard knowing it was his last chance at living.
Or,
Evan Buckley had been watching his parents axe his friends to death in their backyard one by one and knew it was his turn. The BAU gets put on a case for missing boys in Hershey Pennsylvania.Bookmarked by kungop

Summary
“Don't.” Buck shuts him down quick and sharp, gaze darting and fixing on a point above Eddie's shoulder, as if looking him straight in the eye could actually kill him. "I know what you were going to say. Just— don't,” he says, setting his jaw determinedly.
“What was I going to say?”
Buck sighs and leans against the Jeep, tipping his head up and closing his eyes. “You still feel guilty. I can see it, Eds.”
The old nickname cuts like a knife through Eddie's chest, and when he hears it, he can't help to make a small, involuntarily wounded sound at the back of his throat. Buck doesn't seem to notice, or care for it.
“Don't do it, okay? You didn't ruin my life, you didn't—” Buck shakes his head and rubs a hand through his hair. “I made a decision years ago. That was all me, okay?”
