Summary
Dean doesn't really understand why it helps, but some nights, when everything is too loud in his head, he needs it. Needs to kneel, to feel something snug and secure around his throat, needs to curl up on a soft rug at Cas’s feet, to rest his cheek against a warm thigh. To let go.
It’s not about humiliation. It’s not about being less, or more, or being anything at all, really. It’s about peace.
And Cas gives him that peace like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

Summary
The year is 1889 and for the past year and a half, Dean has traveled alone from town to town, drinking to ignore his guilt and gambling to make a living. Today, he’s especially down on his luck. He’s broke, was just thrown out of a saloon for cheating at poker, and has now been woken by a blue-eyed man trying to rob him. When he learns that the thief, Castiel, is just as broke as he is, they strike a tenuous deal to help each other rob a stagecoach, share the spoils, and split up. Turns out splitting up is the most difficult task.
While Castiel is cold and cruel, Dean refuses to back down from a fight. The two are at odds more often than not, but their relationship only grows more complicated the longer they travel together. They may have more in common than they thought.

Summary
But it’s okay, Cas thinks. No matter what’s wrong or what’s just developed, it will be okay, because they can solve it together. Like they’ve always done.
Dean says, “You can’t stay,” and Cas finally registers the taste of the residual food in his mouth. It tastes like ash.
He wonders if this is what it feels like for humans to die, and then he remembers he already died as a human, and it didn’t hurt this much.

Summary
The year is 1994: Mortal Kombat II is the best-selling arcade game, All-4-One are at the top of the charts, and grunge dies with Kurt Cobain. It’s also the year that Dean Winchester gets drafted to the biggest and most important professional wrestling organization in American history — the World Wrestling Federation. Rising quickly up the card thanks to his in-ring talent, mic-ability, and charisma, there’s only one thing standing in Dean’s way of becoming number one on the roster: Castiel Krushnic. Technically proficient and universally respected, Krushnic seems to hate Dean from their very first meeting for reasons that Dean can’t fathom, but sets about picking apart through outlandish and attention-seeking behavior.
It works. Pretty soon, Krushnic’s paying way too much attention and their fierce rivalry ends up sparking a passionate, toxic affair that burns bright and hot, and oh-so dangerous. Egos and obsessions get in the way of true happiness though, and combined with Dean’s escalating drug abuse, it sees the two of them struggling to keep themselves together and whole. After an inciting incident, they hit breaking point, resulting in betrayal, broken hearts, and career-ending injuries.
