Morgan didn’t answer.
Reid shifted, propping himself up on one elbow, and looked down at him. “I know you can’t tell me anything. I’m not asking. I just hate not knowing where you’ll be. If you’re safe.”
Morgan reached up, brushing a thumb across Reid’s cheek. “You’ll know when it’s over.”
Reid leaned into the touch, closing his eyes. “I don’t want to wait for the end to know you’re okay.”
Morgan wrapped his arm around him and pulled him back into his chest.
Reid pressed his face into Morgan’s neck. “Please don’t go.” He almost whimpered.
Morgan took in a deep breath. “I have to.”
