    “Qi-ge?” Shen Jiu prompted when Yue Qingyuan’s head remained lowered. 

    Yue Qingyuan looked up, wet strands of hair framing the red moon painted on his forehead. “I don’t think it worked,” he said weakly. 

    Shen Jiu froze. “Try again,” he said, voice strangled.

    Yue Qingyuan nodded and dipped under, the water closing in above his head. Shen Yuan counted in lieu of doing anything useful. Two, three minutes went by, the powerful lungs of a cultivator preventing any strain on Yue Qingyuan’s body.

    After five minutes even Yue Qingyuan had to give up, and he resurfaced with a gasp. It hadn’t worked. In fact, the mark seemed to be burning even brighter, as if out of spite.

    “Well,” Shen Yuan said, then didn’t continue. “Well,” he tried again, hoping the words would come to him if he just prompted them enough. They didn’t.

     

    One problem has been taken care of, but another is quick to take its space. Shen Yuan wakes up the morning after they cured Without A Cure to find that Yue Qingyuan's transformation into a Heavenly Demon is not so temporary after all.

    "Shidi finally woke up; how do you feel? Any discomfort, any memory issues?" Yue Qingyuan's voice was warm, yet carried a sense of urgency with it that had a year ago been absent.

    He shook his head and blindly moved to grab his fan, but stalled when his hand met, instead of the cool press of paper and wood, warm skin and silky hair.

    He shot up, twisting around to properly face this person. He barely noticed Yue Qingyuan reaching out to support his still weak body, helping him sit up enough to lean on his propped up elbow. Though that person looked to have been asleep, he was quickly waking up.

    When he met that person's eyes, he recognized him straight away. Shen Jiu, the Orginal Goods, the first person that this body ever belonged to. And though he had previously viciously imagined what he would do to that scum if he ever came face to face with him, all those plans were thrown out the window.

    In which a year after his first, Shen Qingqiu falls prey to a second major Qi Deviation. There are now two Shen Qingqiu's walking around - Yue Qingyuan is pleased with this new development, Shen Jiu immediately gets very attached, and Shen Yuan does not mind all this as much as he probably should.
