Summary
Max stared at Charles’ closed eyes and how they twitched in his sleep. Objectively, Max knew that Charles was probably the most beautiful man he had ever seen. But... this was Charles.
Charles Leclerc.
Big, cry-baby Charles.
Sauber #2 driver Charles.
When did he decide that Charles The Driver would become Charles The Boyfriend?
He wishes he could remember.
OR: The self-indulgent Amnesia AU that nobody asked for. This is my love story to Charles Leclerc, thank you for coming along. Warning: this fic may break you.

Summary
“Max,” Charles says slowly. “Pretty boys do not roll their own joints. I have never even bought rolling paper before today. The man in the store looked at me like he maybe thought I was making a joke. Even he knew I am too pretty to bother with these things!”
or; Max and Charles' guide to rolling joints, being love-sick, and talking about world championships.

Summary
"You mentioned Charles!"
"I was talking about racing. You heard his name and instantly thought of the specks of orange in his eyes."
"Oh my god," Max says, mortified.
Daniel hums. "I've been waiting for you to slip up like this for over a decade, Max. If I had known all I needed to do was to give you a few hits of Lemon Kush, I would have done it ages ago."
or; a few joints, a trip to Walmart, a phone call, and a padel tournament.

Summary
“I’ve been thinking,” Charles whispers softly into the nape of Max’s neck, placing a gentle kiss there, “What if I help you with your next rut?”
He says it so casually, as though he hasn’t just taken his teeth and torn open Max’s jugular vein, letting the blood gush out everywhere and stain the crisp hotel sheets pooling around them.
“What,” Max chokes out, barely breathing, barely seeing as his eyes glaze with tears.
“Your next rut,” Charles repeats simply, “I thought about it and I’d really like to spend your rut with you.”
This is it, Max thinks. Charles knows. He knows how hopelessly in love Max is. He knows how greedy he is, he knows how much he wants. So he’s telling Max the only things he can have. Sex. Just sex. It’s all they are and it’s all they ever will be.
(Or: Max has been in love with Charles for as long as he can remember but the only time he can have him is when they are tangled together in bed. But then Max's feelings reach a breaking point and Charles asks to help Max through his next rut and everything just kind of falls apart.)

Summary
Max smiled at him, his expression soft despite how hard he was against Charles’ hip.
“Pretty boy,” Max mused, brushing Charles’ hair out of his eyes.
“Shut up,” Charles huffed, flushing bright red. It only made Max smile harder.
“You’re even prettier when you tell me to shut up.”
“Shut the hell up, Max,” Charles squeaked.
