Summary
It’s been a few weeks since Barbara quit Batgirl. But it’s been months since she felt useful in the role.
With no batgirl, and fewer friends than ever, she finds herself at the lowest point in her life—maybe only after when her birth parents died.
She feels utterly useless, and hates that. She can hardly bring herself to get up, and her heart won’t stop hurting.
At least her dad is here for her.

Summary
When new students arrived at Gotham Academy, they quickly learned three very important things about the school, which, the first week back, Charlie Gage-Radcliffe of that fall’s sophomore class helpfully wrote on the whiteboard in the student rec room:
1: Bruce Wayne, yes, that Bruce Wayne, donates an absurd amount of money to the school and so has his absurd amount of children on the premises.
2: Do not cross Principal Amanda Waller, and do not believe her when she says “if you come forward, you won’t be punished.”
3: Mr. Grayson of the math department and Ms. Gordon of the English department absolutely fucking hate each other.

He felt less afraid. Less like a child left alone, feeling so sick and scared and unsure of what to do. Tim hated being sick because of how often he'd been left on his own as a kid. He'd seen in Elowyn how much each interaction set in stone her future mentality and emotional regulation. It frightened him, knowing every conversation he had with her might be the reason things go wrong- and it hurt him to know he'd been failed by his parents, abandoned when he needed them.

Dick couldn't stop pacing outside the hospital room. His nails dug into his chapped lips, but there was nothing left to pick at. He refused to pick at the velvet box in his pocket. That was over the line. No, he could still use it. There would still be an opportunity. There would still be a time. Maybe not today, but there would be a time. Barbara was alive, so there would be a chance. That was the important part: Barbara was alive.
Paralysed. But alive.
He had been the one to find her. Barbara never missed a call, and they had plans after she worked out with Colleen. A nice dinner. No crime. No crime. No crime. And fucking yet.
