Summary
Eddie listens to the music coming in from the living room; to the sounds of Buck washing up, the rustling of clothes, the tell-tale spritz of cologne, the mere anticipation of it all making Eddie actually salivate. He is hungry, but more than that he almost doesn’t care to eat the food, not right now, only really looking forward to watching Buck take the first bite; the way he closes his eyes every single time as if he’s eating at a three-star restaurant, not Eddie’s— their— dining table.

Summary
“Is it fucked up if I say I hate your parents?”
Eddie huffs, as close to a laugh as he can get with how drained he feels right now.
“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate their kid-making ability. They made one of my favorite people, and you made my actual favorite person, but-“ Buck shrugs, “Still hate them on principle for everything else besides that.”
At his words, Eddie feels a sharp tug in his chest, his heart leaping like it’s trying to reach LA and nestle beside Buck’s.
(or: eddie moves back to el paso & finds his way back to himself in the process.)

Summary
“You bought it?”
At his questioning, Eddie sees something set alight in Buck’s eyes. Sees him square his shoulders like he’s prepping for a fight.
“Yes, Eddie. I bought it.”
Apropos of nothing else to do, Eddie squares his shoulders, too. Crosses his arms, matches his tone, nods slowly, and considers,
“Okay, Buck. You bought a house.”
If Buck wants to pretend this is normal, fine. Eddie will too.
(or: buck buys a house. eddie deals with the aftermath.)

Summary
“This is unbearable,” Eddie mutters. Then he peels his tank over his head in one smooth motion and tosses it aside. Relief flashes across his face as he closes his eyes and sighs. He resettles his own damp towel on his neck and relaxes against the couch once more.
Buck’s mouth hangs open.
Eddie’s skin is glistening, damp, and flushed. Water from the cloth drips down over his collarbones, rolls in lazy trails down his chest, and across the divots of his abs. Buck wants—God, he wants to touch, to let his fingertips trace the trails of water left on his skin, to lick the droplets as they run across his body.
Or, Buck and Eddie's air conditioning is broken and they try to beat the heat.
