I had dozed earlier in the evening, but that energy had long since worn off, after two sleepless nights and a whirlwind week before it. And Kip had heroically saved himself and half a dozen others from the heyday of Astandalas, and then entertained much of the Red Company and a rota of Mdangs besides. He had earned a little exhaustion.
