The door cracked open silently. A shadow crossed the floor, hard to make out from the corner of his optic, and disappeared as the door hissed shut once more.
Megatron sighed, leaning back against the berth. “Soundwave, I told you I want to be alone.”
An amused hum came from a darkened corner of the habsuite. Megatron turned sharply and flicked the lights of the room on.
Deadlock winced as he lifted a hand to shield his optics against the sudden light. “Damn. Would have thought you had enough of sitting in the dark.”
“Drift?” Megatron said faintly.

Summary
Becoming a Prime meant accepting a council of sparkmates, mechs who represented not just the varying people on Cybertron, but who kept the Prime from turning against his people. Rodimus never had such a council, and so, Ratchet always assumed he was a Prime in name only.
Ratchet was wrong.

Summary
Hot Rod was still young. She’d seen things just as horrible as Arcee had, only far less of them. She probably hadn’t learned that anything hopeful and uncomplicated would invariably end up strapped to a conveyer belt, condemned to the closest smelting pool.
Arcee kicked the bunk again, hard enough that something in her foot snapped.
There was no place here for something soft.
