“Why would I— oh.” Michael puts his console down, level be damned. He was going to lose either way. “Holy shit, Jeremiah Heere, do you have a crush?” Michael cackles. “Oh, this is incredible.”
In which Michael and Jeremy remain each other’s favorite persons, Jeremy joins an improv group, Michael lies about his crush, and they’re (sort of) cool in college.

There was Jake, in a conversation with Sam and Tyler, in Jeremy’s old, slightly oversized retro Donkey Kong shirt. It was not oversized on Jake, but it was pretty clearly Jeremy’s shirt. He’d shown up in it, talked to multiple of Jake’s roommates, and proceeded to be an absolute idiot and grab the wrong shirt when trying to get dressed quickly.

Jeremy had always sort of been aware of Jake Dillinger. It was kind of impossible to be unaware of him; he was a social god among the students of Middleborough High School, and a few of the surrounding schools. Jake was the attractive kind of guy, even when they were kids. His hair was all soft and swoopy and light brown, in the way where it turned gold in the sun rather than dull brown.

Summary
