”Everything was fine until you -“ she cuts herself off and finally meets his eyes, her gaze simultaneously accusing and resigned. At first, Thomas thinks she’s referring to the compound and their escape, but then he realises she’s talking about something else altogether. Something about their shared history with WCKD.
“What aren’t you telling me, Teresa?” He quietly asks and something clouds her gaze, like a mixture of anger, acceptance and an old, old hurt before she turns it ahead.
“We were close to finding a cure, Thomas. We thought we could fix all this because we were fixing all of this. Then -” Her voice becomes even lower and he has to strain his ears to hear her. “You turned against us. You gave all our information, all the maze coordinates to some organisation that was fighting against WCKD. Dr. Paige never told me who but… I think it might be The Right Arm.”

When they learn of a supposed Safe Haven they go on a mission to find the people who are going there and learn a lot along the way.

Everything is mostly the same, except the kids never made it to the Maze; the world is still ending and WCKD is still terrible. A story I thought about writing before I wrote "at this moment (you mean everything)". Some similarities but a lot of changes too

His eyes flew forward to where he knew Chuck was placed with a couple of younger kids. He was staring back at them with wide, fearful eyes.
Thomas didn't think. He just acted.
"I volunteer as a Tribute!" he shouted.
From his left, he heard Newt groan in despair. From his right, Minho hissed: "No, you don't, you fucking moron!"
