Summary
Five years after the Second Wizarding War, Hermione Granger is content with her life, for the most part. She’s settled in her relationship with Ron (if you ignore the fact that they rarely see each other), and she finally has a job that allows her to pursue her passions in research.
When her top secret project is funded by her childhood enemy, Hermione discovers a lot about herself, and Draco Malfoy, that she didn’t know before. But will she have enough time to figure out this new life, or is another threat looming to take it all away?

“You are a hero, Granger.”
“I’m not,” she said, shaking her head and trying to pull away.
Draco let her go but remained in her space. “You are, to so many people, you are.” His lips turned up at the corners, “And after you succeed with this project, you’ll be more than a hero.” He leaned in, his breath fluttering against Hermione’s ear, “You’ll be a liberator.” -

Summary
They gave her a thirty-second head start. Laughable, really, but fuck if she wasn’t going to take it. Thirty seconds to run like hell. Thirty seconds to save her life. Thirty seconds for every dreadful, miserable moment of this year to play on repeat inside of her head.
Thirty seconds for Hermione to get ahead of the pack.
A part of her wondered if, like with bears or panthers or other beasts, it was better not to run. Like a rabbit caught in the sight of a snake, it might be better to freeze. Or in that dinosaur movie her mother loved when the screaming people had to stop all movement because a Tyrannosaurus Rex supposedly can’t see you if you don’t move.
The moment Fenrir Greyback grinned that sharp, yellowed smile, Hermione knew that it didn’t matter. What was a rabbit, anyway, when hunted by a wolf?
“Run, little mudblood,” he growled.
And she did.
