"That's him, but are you sure about this?" Seonghwa asked for the fifth time since they'd arrived at the fancy underground nightclub, side-eyeing the many inebriated people dancing all around them.
But Mingi merely smiled winningly down at the concerned beta, patting him on the shoulder as he said, "You worry too much, Hwa. And besides, what's the worst that could happen?"
"You want a list?" Jongho deadpanned.

“Well, well, well. Looks like all your drinks are free tonight, cutie. You someone famous I should know about?” the blue haired bartender asked him suspiciously.
“What?” Mingi asked, looking over his shoulder. And there was Jeong Yunho again, staring straight at him with a slight tilt of his head and an easy smile. Fuck. “I assure you I’m a nobody, but who’s he? Does he own the club or something?”
As if he didn’t already know.

Yunho tipped the brim of his black hat up just a tad as he casually sauntered over to Mingi who was still on his horse, revealing mischievous kohl rimmed eyes as he stared up at him. “A kiss for good luck, darlin’?”
Scoffing, Mingi drawled, “Jeong Yunho, you are quite possibly the luckiest man this side of the planet already. You don’t need my kisses for that.”
“Just because then,” the gunslinger amended with a slight pout, dragging the omega down by the hem of his long, leather duster to connect their lips fiercely.
For as much as they all liked to pretend that jobs like these were run-of-the-mill for them, one never knew when a kiss would be their last in the dangerous world they lived in.

“We really aren’t supposed to let omegas down here when our more feral alphas are in rut like this,” the beta hedged once the lift opened up to the basement floor.
“Well, I won’t tell if you won’t,” Mingi said flippantly, breezing past the beta to follow the alluring scent that had been calling to him ever since he’d first entered the illegal auction house.
As Mingi drew closer and closer to the growling, muzzled alpha chained up in a pen at the far end of the room, it seemed like his many years of searching for his true mate were finally about to pay off.
And oh, he was perfect.

Mingi could only watch as his target once again evaded his scheduled death, the human slipping on the wet bathroom tile like Mingi had written, but somehow managing to right himself afterwards, instead of falling to his demise in the shower.
And the bastard had the nerve to say out loud, “Phew, that was a close one!” before casually walking out of the bathroom to continue going about his day unbothered, whistling as he towel dried his hair. Infuriating.
Snapping the notebook in his hands shut, Mingi phased through the walls, floating above his target with his arms crossed as the human got dressed and made himself a cup of coffee, Yunho upgrading from whistling to humming beneath Mingi’s invisible glare.
By all accounts, Jeong Yunho was a perfectly ordinary soul, his near black aura signifying that he was at the end of his life cycle and therefore in need of reaping. So why wouldn’t he die?

Mingi's eyes watered the longer the tentacle stayed shoved down his throat, but eventually he nodded, sharp teeth just itching to bite into the slimy thing pulsating on his tongue. It would serve White right.
“Ah ah, I know that look. Don’t even think about it,” Yunho said as he retracted the wiggling, viscous limb.
Watching the tentacle disappear back beneath the other impostor’s clothes, Mingi's expression grew incredulous when he asked, “...did you just shut me up with your dick?”
“One of many,” Yunho shrugged. “Don’t pretend like you didn’t like it, Red.”

Summary
“Hello, Agent Jeong. It’s nice to meet you.” His deep voice goes straight to Yunho’s head. He feels light-headed all of a sudden.
“Yeah, it’s nice to …” Yunho loses his train of thought. His whole mind zeros in on the man before him. He has no idea where to look, the entire man just being overwhelmingly distracting to Yunho. He can’t even think of his own name at the moment, much less the mission at hand.
The man giggles. Yunho sees stars.

Summary
For the first time since he'd arrived, everything felt real, not some sort of dream or figment of his imagination. He could smell the smoke and the crisp leaves, could hear the sounds of buzzing conversation and chuffs of steam. Above all, he could see Mingi's outstretched hand, waving goodbye as he and the train disappeared into the creeping shadows of the tunnel. Like magic, Mingi was gone.
But he was going to come back, he had promised, and he still had so much he needed to explain.
(or: yunho is dead and in limbo and now has to navigate being given a job to take his fellow lost souls onto the afterlife. he didn't realise he'd fall in love with the train driver along the way)

Summary

Desperate, his boyfriend Jongho puts aside his scepticism and enlists the help of the Aurora Paranormal Investigators.
Hongjoong, Seonghwa and Mingi are good at what they do, but they soon realise that this is no ordinary haunting they’ve been called to help with. Why is the basement sealed off? What makes the ghosts so powerful, and why are they fixated on Yeosang? And why does the house seem so weirdly familiar to Mingi?
