“You call this living?” the hedgehog says, throwing his hands up, looking around. “A hole in the wall of the sewers, eating junk food, only coming out at night, never talking to anyone? You- There’s no bed in here.”
Shadow bares his teeth for the first time, glaring hard. “What do you want?”
“Come back to Green Hills with me,” the hedgehog says abruptly, flashing a smile.

Her eyes narrowed at the sight; tongue flashed out of her mouth in jest. “Eww.”
Red eyes watched her move towards the kitchen, the blood of the poultry dripping on the floor. Good. She had accepted his token. The two homosapiens required nourishment if he was to take them back home with him. It was only fair – they sheltered him from his pupa state. He will spare them. It was how things… worked.----------

“Silver,” the greeting comes. If Silver didn’t know better, he would describe it as icy.
“Hey,” the hedgehog nods back. “My Extreme Gear is broken and Amy and Espio said I just had to go to you so you could help me out.”
“Oh.” Tails makes very few attempts at moving out of the way. “Is that so.”
“I don’t know what’s wrong with it. It keeps twisting to the left when I want it to go straight,” Silver explains further.
Slowly blue eyes drop from glaring at him to the Gear in question. “Really now.”
“Yes,” the hedgehog agrees; the beginning of a long, long silence wherein he stands with his Gear under one arm and wherein Tails’ narrow-eyed leer has flitter back up to him to stare.
