Summary
Jack gasps as he sits up, feeling his damp suit sticking to his skin, pain flaring through his insides. He turns around to search for his family, hoping they survived the onslaught. The thought of losing his family is absolutely terrifying, but Jack knows the only one to blame for the attack is himself. He failed to contain the red demon from coming out, failed to suppress his anger, and lashed out at his loved ones. And there they are, laying on the ground, the most important people in his life—Mom, Dad, Vi, and Dash. Pale, hurt, and lifeless. He failed, and he fucking killed his family! His family‘s dead ‘cos he has become a monster!
They’re dead! They’re fucking dead!
Jack Parr has been dealing with a lot of nightmares lately. It's still not enough for him to open up about it.

Summary
"Nobody was really thinking in that moment. Not Will, and certainly not Mike. Ten years down the line and three glasses of wine deep, Mike would proclaim that it was simple science—Magnetic attraction. North and South meet halfway to the west.
The closer you place them, the more likely they’ll collide
TLDR
Will gets some new (totally not gay) friends, and Mike is a jealous, needy loser. Coming out, crying, and sappy confessions await.
This Fic is meant to be an intermission between Season 4 and Season 5, with the assumption that Vecna doesn’t return with full force until all the cast are 18.Bookmarked by vincentparr

Summary
Mike is having the rudest awakening of his life. Here, in the middle of the apocalypse, once again, he’s worried about all the wrong things. He should be worried for Max, like Lucas. He should be preoccupied with monster-hunting, like his sister. He should be terrified for when Vecna awakes, like El clearly is.
But instead, he’s worried about the stupidest things ever. Like his haircut. And how he might possibly be in love with his best friend.
-
Or - Mike’s entire identity relies on his long hair, and when that eventually gets taken away from him, he’s not sure who he is. Set in between s4 & s5.

Summary
"Chance bit the inside of his lip. Truthfully, part of him believed Jason’s Hellfire theory was a desperate story fueled by the grief of losing Chrissy, but the more Chance watched Hawkins fall apart, literally, the more he felt his old logic snap into place. Maybe Jason had been right, the town had a wound and something crawled out of it, something that hid in plain sight. Chance didn’t believe in revenge, the Bible says justice belonged to God or the law. But, if there really was an evil in this town, wouldn’t it be just as evil to do nothing about it? To let it happen?"
OR
After losing two of his friends in the Hawkins “earthquake,” Chance joins a church grief group that believes Will Byers is the vessel for Satan. To prove them wrong, Chance agrees to befriend Will, but the closer he gets, the more the lines between faith, fear, obsession and love start to blur.

Summary
Panic begins to run through his veins, speeding up his pulse and his breathing. “I can’t– why don’t I remember it? I don’t remember any of it.”
Mike blanches. “Any of what, Will?”
Jonathan’s hand is on his knee. Both of them are too close. He can’t breathe.
“The Upside Down. I… I can’t remember any of the Upside Down.”
OR: A Will Byers-centric speculation of ST5! Based on trailers, BTS footage, and some scenes from The First Shadow.

Summary
“Instead of playing that song, I will strive to use my new disc jockey skills to bring about romantic bliss for the one person left in this town who really deserves a happy ending.”
Will clears his throat. He looks like he’s ready to cry. “And, um, what am I swearing?”
“You, younger Byers,” Robin says, “are swearing that you will be your truest self and not neglect your hard-won feelings, and that you will try to believe in a world where the boy you love loves you back. In the gay way, of course,” she adds.
“Of course,” Will sighs. “Well, then, I swear.”
Or: 5 times Robin and Steve play the wrong song + 1 time they get it right
