Summary
Wild thought his adventures were over. Hint hint, thought. He thought that, because he didn’t clear out all the gloom in his arm before saving Hyrule, he would have a numbered amount of days left. He thought that Mineru’s parting gift of her Sage Stone was worthless. He thought that he was only going to be playing with the residue of Rauru’s power left over in his arm before he expired prematurely from gloom poisoning. He thought he was never going to see his brothers again. For most of that, he was wrong. Apparently, it was comical to Hylia to send him back on the adventure he had been on with his brothers, but with only 30 days left to complete it before his body gave out.
OR:

He didn’t find out til the night of her death. He re-lived it through the blood that seeped through the fabric covering his hands. Felt it through the touch of her haori when he found the courage to take the gloves off.
From that moment Giyuu understood why his sister covered his hands.
