    Hwei’s hands shook as he ground up the tea leaves in the mortar. He watched the white substance he’d slipped into the mixture gradually disappear, the poison leaching into the dark green powder. He resisted the urge to peek over his shoulder at Jhin, who was but a few meters away, lounging on a plush chair in front of the fireplace—he had to trust himself for once. Sleight of hand was more Jhin’s thing, but he was perfectly capable of getting away with this. He’d spent the first thirty years of his life hiding and lying, stealing time and sneaking around… Surely he could channel some of that skill here, even when he was so out of practice.

    Hwei's plan to prevent Jhin from leaving again backfires, but he honestly doesn't mind it too much.
