Chapter Text
The night is peaceful and quiet. It's like Kenny somehow knew tonight was going to have the perfect atmosphere for their late night date.
The two teens are sat near the edge of a cliff that overlooks their small mountain town, snow decorating the city like it's part of a Christmas fairytale. Despite their home being anything but that deep down, it's still a very nice sight. Makes them both forget the chaos and weirdness that goes on half the time there.
His head resting on Kenny's broad shoulder, Stan shudders when a light breeze blows pass them, making the area twice as cold. He's just glad it's not snowing, but knowing Kenny he would've dragged him out anyway and Stan honestly would've let him though not without some grouchy complaints along the way.
Stan suddenly feels an arm lower down to his waist from behind, bringing him closer to Kenny's body. The small action makes a slight difference, Kenny's parka is also cold to the touch but with time it'll warm up.
"We can head home if you're too cold," Kenny says.
Stan contemplates his answer for a moment. He would honestly rather go back to his warm home, the thought of him being in his equally warm bed tempts him to voice it out loud. But then again he doesn't want to separate from his boyfriend and from the tone of his voice just now he didn't want to either. So he settles on saying, "No we don't have to, not yet at least." He doesn't see Kenny's pleased smile at his response and it's silent once again.
It's five minutes later when something twinkles in the sky. This catches the boys' attention because the dark blue sky is bare, so seeing a star shine into view is a first. They're usually already in the sky long before anyone can see them, well that is if you've been outside before sundown.
But suddenly, the lone star becomes both brighter and bigger, darting across the sky. Seconds later, more start appearing and following suit, gradually brightening the sky.
Stan gapes in awe at the breathtaking scene, then looks over at an equally dumbfounded Kenny. "Did you know there was gonna be a meteor shower tonight?"
Kenny composes himself to flash Stan a small grin. "Would you believe me if I said yes?"
"I would if you sounded more believable," Stan snorts looking away.
The coldness forgotten, Stan and Kenny basks in the glory of the meteor shower until it ended.
