Chapter Text
Author notes: So... Neon verse is all about Izuku and bad parents Inko and Toshinori... how about it mixed in with some good Endeavor? I am excited to see what you guys think of this! I hope you enjoy this chapter!
A single figure, small in stature sat at the edge of a tall building in Tokyo… Who knew how sweet the air was… up so high…
A young interning hero jogged down the street, running to where his mentor and father stood waiting for him.
“Touya…” The number two hero began
“There’s a kid… on that roof.” Touya quickly pointed to the building in question. “Looks like they are just sitting for now, but it seems like they’re alone.” Endeavor frowned, before nodding.
“Touya, I want you to stay down here for now. I will go and see if I can help them.” Endeavor gave him a reassuring smile. Touya nodded, doing as his father ask as Endeavor used his fire to propel him up, so he could reach the roof.
Sure enough, as he straightened himself and had a good look around the roof, there at the edge, was what seemed to be a young boy. He made his way over, from how the boy moved it was clear he knew someone was approaching. He had to deal with this situation delicately. He sat down next to the boy, who didn’t even look at him.
“Nice night tonight.” Endeavor said, hoping the boy would chose to talk to him.
“I guess…” Came the response, the boy glanced up, dull eyes scanning the sky. “Can’t bring myself to be bothered though…”
“Had a bad day?” Endeavor asked
“Bad life… every day the same… guess today was just…” The boy stopped.
“Today was the breaking point huh?” Endeavor frowned. “What was different that happened today?”
“Dad went on a hero mission on my birthday and is now in critical condition in hospital, mom left me at home. I am only nine… one of the worse birthdays… ever…” The boy huffed.
“Well, happy birthday from me. As for your parents… isn’t there someone they called in to watch over you?” Endeavor frowned, no parent in their right mind would leave a 9 year old at home alone. He and Rei couldn’t even consider that with Shouto despite the strength of his quirk, it was just wrong…
“I guess… there’s my gramps and Uncle… chances are my parents haven’t told them.” The boy said “Not yet anyway…” Endeavor watched him carefully, he saw the boy shiver. It was pretty cold, and they were up high… He held out his hand to the boy, who glanced at it in confusion.
“It’s cold and you’re shivering. My quirks makes my natural temperature very high.” Endeavor explain. The boy frowned.
“I am sure… there are more people worthy of being save then me…” He said
“Why would you think that?” The hero asked.
“Why would anyone care for someone quirkless?”
“Why would anyone assume that being quirkless means you mean less then those who have quirks?” Endeavor said, causing the boy to look at him with wide eyes. “I know… society isn’t the best towards those without… and honestly there are issues in this society that needs to be fixed… I met my wife when I was saving her from a quirk marriage… by saying I would agree to it and then had her parents arrested… together, we have seen how people get treated, looking past their quirks.” Endeavor wanted to comfort the boy but was afraid he would react badly to touch. “No hero should decide who to save, because of what they have or lack. Will you let me help you?” He kept his hand out. The boy looked at his hand, silent, with a look of thought on his face. Endeavor almost cried in relief as the boy carefully took his hand… he was so small… Endeavor got up and led the boy from the edge, it seemed to hit the boy about what he had almost done, and he began to cry. Endeavor made sure they were a safe distance from the edge, before he knelt down and comfort him. He didn’t want to ask if he was okay, of course he wasn’t, but he wanted to make sure he was safe and well… even if he was still cold. He wrapped him up in a hug, holding the boy close. “I am here for you, kid.” He wasn’t sure how log he held the boy, but he had pretty strong tears ducts for the amount of crying done. He pulled away to see the boy yawn a little. “How about this..” Endeavor began, the boy looked up. “You are about my son’s age and side, I am sure he has some clothes you can borrow, and you can stay with me and my family until yours pull their heads from their ass, and realise they put their child at risk?” He could feel pride bubbling up as the boy made a small giggle.
“Is that okay?” He asked
“I offered. I know my family would be happy to have you.” Endeavor smiled “Can I have your name?”
“Izuku.” The boy said
“Well then Izuku, let’s get off this roof okay?” He smiled, Izuku nodded.

Touya sighed in relief as his father returned with the boy in his arms. He couldn’t have been more then Shouto’s age… Endeavor put the boy down, who looked at Touya with caution.
“Izuku, this is my oldest son Touya.” Endeavor introduced. “I have to finish my patrol, but Touya, I trust you to get Izuku to ours safely. I am texting your mother to explain the situation, and so Shouto can get him something to wear.”
“Right! Nice to meet you Izuku!” Touya greeted with a smile, hoping the boy would see him as another friendly face. Izuku gave him a small wave, Endeavor patted Izuku’s head.
“I will see you after Izuku, but trust me when I say you will be safe, okay?” Endeavor told him, Izuku looked unsure, but he nodded. Touya held out his hand, Izuku accepted it. Endeavor watched his son take the boy away, in the direction of home. He sighed. He had to find out who Izuku’s parents were… cause he had a few choice words for them.
