Chapter Text
Damn it, gotta hurry!
Jiro Kyoka, number 27 hero Earphone Jack, was running through the streets to reach Mustafu Hospital. All she got was a call from Momo that Midoriya, number one hero Deku, got hurt and is in critical condition. She said that he wanted to see the class in case he…
She shook her head. ‘No, he’ll survive this. He has too.’
She ran as fast as she could, her lungs burning from running. She was from another town when Momo called. Halfway through the trip with her car, she was being delayed due to the night traffic, so instead, she opted to run to the hospital. She ran as fast as her legs could take her, hoping she could reach in time.
There it is, the hospital was a few blocks away. She could see Momo looking frantically from side to side, most likely waiting and looking for her. Sprinting the last stretch, she called out to her, screaming all the while as she couldn’t stop herself. Unluckily, Momo reacted too late as they rolled and sprawled over the hospital lobby, the occupants staring at them with curious and surprised eyes. They groaned from the floor as they slowly stood up, rubbing their aching bodies, Kyouka having a little trouble standing up due to the marathon she endured.
“Ow… Sorry ‘bout that, Yaomomo” Kyoka held her head, still throbbing from the crash.
“Ah, it’s fine, Kyoka,” Momo stood up with a wince. “Wait, we should get you to Midoriya ASAP. You’re the only one he hasn’t talked too,” and with that, Momo forcefully pulled Kyoka by the arm as they ran to where Midoriya is, Kyoka stumbling around due to the sudden action.
They arrived at what seemed to be his room as every one of their old UA classmates were there as well as a few more people. Aizawa, Toshinori, Lemillion, and Eri to name a few. Every single one of their faces showed only sorrow and pain. Bakugou was looking away from them all as Kirishima patted him on the back, tears sniffling down his face. Uraraka was sitting in one of the seats available, weeping incoherently as Iida patted his back. Todoroki’s face was straight, but his eyes show extreme sadness. And there was a small green-haired woman crying rivers of tears outside the window as Toshinori consoled her.
“Everyone, I’ve brought her,” was all Momo said.
Kyoka looked at all their expressions and her heart plummeted, fearing the worst. The small green woman approached her as she sniffled.
“Are you the one he keeps talking about? The singer?” she asked.
“Yes, she is, Inko-san,” Momo nodded. Kyoka’s heart thumped. He talks about her? She scoffed, doubted he would do that. But…
“Yaomomo, what are you talking about?” she asked, genuinely curious.
“Nothing, Kyoka. Just go inside, he’s been expecting you for a while,” she sighed as she pointed to the door.
Kyoka gulped as she looked at the door, dread and fear filling her heart. She took a deep breath before opening the door and once she got in, she wished she didn’t see his condition.
Tubes were attached to his heart, trying to keep him alive. A breathing machine attached to his face, providing him air his lungs currently couldn’t give. Overall, he looked sick and weak. Never had she seen anything like this. It was just so wrong to see Midori—no, Izuku to be on this bed, so weak and tired. She cautiously approached him as he stirred.
“O-oh, who is it?” he groggily asked. Once he saw Kyoka, he smiled, “Jiro-san, it’s good to see you again.”
“Hey, Midoriya,” she started. It was awkward as she decided to start the conversation.
“So… how’s it going?”
Izuku chuckled, “As you can see, *wheeze* I got careless during a rescue and I got a critical injury.” This made her feel bad for asking that. Trying to change subjects, she thought of the earlier conversation between Momo and Inko.
“Yaomomo said you wanted to see me? Why?”
“Because… you’re the only one I haven’t talked to,” he wheezed out. “Besides, I need to tell you something.” He patted the space near the bed, “Come here.”
Hesitantly, she walked over to his bed as he grasped her hand once it was near. This caused Jiro to blush.
“Jiro-san, I needed to tell you something first. I regret not doing this sooner and I’m sorry for only saying this now.” Jiro’s heart was beating hard from the gesture and his words.
“Jiro-san, I love you.” Of all the words, she did not expect this.
“W-Why?” she croaked out.
“Why *wheeze* what?”
“Why do you say you love me? Why say only now? This isn’t real. No, no…” she muttered out the last part, tears were brimming her eyes.
“Be-because, I do love you. This is real, what I say is real. I didn’t tell you… because I was scared. You’re so cool, so beautiful and I’m just plain, shy Deku. I wanted to at least tell you this before I die.” He was wheezing harder at this point.
“You will not die, Izuku! You won’t, I won’t let you,” tears were falling now as she held his hand with both of hers.
“Jiro-san—” “Please, call me Kyoka,” she cut off. “Kyoka, the doctors said I don’t have much to live. I know my limits and my time is up. Don’t worry about me, live your life.”
“Please, Izuku. Don’t die on me, please. I love you, Izuku. Please, don’t die,” Kyoka pleaded, holding his hand up to her forehead. Izuku grunted, removing the mask on his face to the shock of Kyoka.
“Izuku, what?! Why?”
“S-so *wheeze* I could do this,” he placed his hand on the back of her neck and slowly pulled her to him, giving her a tender kiss on the lips. Kyoka’s eyes were wide as she slowly closed them and kissed back, her tears splashing on his face. Once they separated, Izuku’s hand was on her cheek as she leaned into it and held it with both hands.
“I’m so happy, Kyoka. I’m just sorry I couldn’t… be with… you… any *gasp* more…” Izuku’s voice was slowly fading as his grip on her cheek weakened. The heart monitor beside them was going flatline.
“No… no, no, no! Izuku? Izuku. Izuku! Please, wake up! Izuku!!!!” At this time, the doctors and nurses came in, one of them pushing Kyoka out of the door as she tried to stay inside.
“I’m sorry, Earphone Jack. We’ll try to save him,” the nurse said as she closed the door to his room. Everyone looked at her sadly as she went to Momo and hugged her, weeping on her shoulder.
A few minutes pass until the doctor came out of the room, his posture slumped and eyes full of sorrow. Everyone was looking at him, fear making its way into their hearts. He simply sighed and shook his head as everyone’s heart stopped.
“I’m sorry. There was nothing we could do,” the doctor downheartedly said. Jiro cried harder onto Momo’s shoulder as she cried for their loss, Ochako wept louder, Bakugou was punching the wall, Aizawa looked like a part of him died, Inko stood still, shock all over her face as she heard the news that her baby died.
Today was a tragic day as the world lost its number one hero. But to the ones who really knew him, they lost more than that. Some lost a student; others, a friend; for one, a brother; for another, a son; and to her, and a loved one, but most especially...
Today was the day Izuku Midoriya died.

Chapter Text
A few years passed since that day and as a woman with long purple hair with earphone jacks passed through the sidewalk with what seemed to be her daughter. The child had purple hair and earphone jacks similar to her mother, but what makes them different was that her eyes were a vibrant green.
“Mama, where are we going?” the child asked as she and her mother walked to the direction of the cemetery.
“We are going to see someone, Koto-chan.”
“Who is it, Mama? Are we going to see Uncle Baku? Or Auntie Momo?”
She giggled, “No, dear. We are going to see someone very dear to your father.”
“Who is it, Mama? Who is it? Tell me....” the girl whined.
“Now now, Kotone. You’ll have to wait and see. This person was a great hero just like your father. He may have died, but people still say he’s one of the greatest heroes to ever live.” And with that, the mother and daughter duo made their way to the cemetery. Upon arriving on a certain grave, they were greeted by a familiar green-haired woman.
“Ah, Midoriya-san” The woman greeted.
“Kyoka-chan, how many times have I told you to call me Inko? And how are you doing?” Inko replied.
“Inko-baa!” Kotone shouted, immediately latching onto Inko.
“Hello, Kotone-chan! Good to see you again.”
“Mama said we were supposed to visit someone. Who’s he?” she asked, pointing to the large statue behind the grave.
“He’s someone your father admired greatly, dear. He was one of the greatest heroes,” she said wistfully. “Your father could tell more stories about him. He was closest to him out of all of us.”
“I’m surprised he didn’t take her offer though,” Kyoka said, Kotone just listening in to the conversation.
“He said he doesn’t need to. His time was already up and it was only a matter of time until he passed. Wanting to rest and leave the world to the next generation he says.” There was a silence until Kyoka asked.
“By the way, did he visit?”
“He visited earlier. He also left these sunflowers for him,” Inko said, brushing her fingers against the sunflowers, some of their petals being blown by the wind. “You know him, he’s off doing hero work. Now that he is and will continue to be a hero, he’ll continue making this world a better place for everyone.”
“Mama, who is this hero you and Inko-baa keep talking about?” Kotone finally asked.
“Mind if I answer this, Kyoka?” Inko asked.
“Of course, Inko-san.”
Inko knelt down as she and Kotone looked over the statue. “The person who rests here, Kotone, is Toshinori Yagi. My husband and your grandfather. He was known as the hero All Might .”
XXXX
“We’re home!” Kyoka shouted in their home. It was already evening and Kotone, Inko, and she spent the whole afternoon at the mall as they looked around and had fun. There was a loud bang coming from the upper floor as someone yelped and got down the stairs.
“Sorry, I got surprised and bumped my head against the wall,” the person revealed himself to be Izuku Midoriya. He scratched his head in embarrassment as a faint blush was shown on his cheeks.
Kyoka couldn’t help but snicker. After all this time, he was still the same old, adorable dork that she loved.
“Papa!” Kotone screamed, running to her father.
“Koto-chan, how was your day?” Izuku hugged her as he carried her on his arms.
“Me and Mama visited All Might and went to the mall with Inko-baa. It was so fun. By the way, Papa. Who is All Might? Inko-baa said you have stories of him. Will you tell me? Please, please, please?” she begged, showing her father the famed puppy dog eyes and Izuku’s famous muttering habit. He simply chuckled as he carried her to the kitchen, telling his tales and experiences of his mentor.
Kyoka smiled as she took in the scene. She was forever thankful for Eri for bringing him back to life. She hummed a tune as she remembered the memory.
Flashback:
Everyone was devastated by the news. Izuku was now dead and no one could say otherwise. Nobody noticed that a certain white-haired kid entered the room during the commotion.
“Can we see him one last time?” Inko sniffed. The doctor sadly nodded. Inko and Toshinori were the first ones to the door, they were going to open it when a scream erupted from inside the room.
Panicking, the two immediately opened the door and their jaws dropped as they stood frozen in shock. Curious the others went inside as they were also in shock for they saw something that shouldn’t happen.
Right there, in the middle of the room, on the bed, was Izuku sitting up and touching himself in various ways, trying to assume something isn’t amiss. He looked at the visitors as they stared back at him.
“WHAT?!” they all screamed. It was only then Aizawa noticed something else besides Izuku. Sitting down on the chair with her hands on her face, resting, was Eri. It took Aizawa a few moments before he understood what happened.
“*sigh* It seems Problem Child was saved thanks to Eri,” he smirked and pointed to the child.
They stared at her, then at Izuku again, back to Eri, then Izuku. It was then Inko rushed to her son, crying fountains of tears as she gave him the bear hug of his life. Toshinori immediately opened the windows as literal rivers of tears were shooting out of the window. One by one, they approached him, giving him hugs and pats, crying all the while.
As Jiro went to Izuku, she simply said, “Hey.”
“Hey,” he greeted back. She couldn’t stop herself as she ran into Izuku’s arms, crying on his chest. He simply hugged back, his eyes were full of tears. She separated from his arms, holding his face with two hands, she gazed at him lovingly before bringing him in for a deep kiss. Izuku was surprised at the action but nevertheless returned the kiss with equal passion as the other occupants in the room cheered for the newly-found couple.
Flashback end:
She smiled at the memory as she remembered snippets of what happened next. A few dates here, team-ups there, the time he proposed to him, their marriage, and having Kotone. These years were the best she had ever had and she hoped that it will continue like this for a long time.
The doorbell rang, which greatly confused her. She thought that there wouldn’t be any visitors today.
“Ah! Sorry about that. I invited Aizawa-sensei, Eri, Mirio-sempai, and Mom for dinner. Hope you don’t mind,” Izuku said as he prepared a large dinner for the whole family. She smiled and shook her head as she went on to greet the guests. As she opened the door, she saw the said people outside the door. Greeting them and smiling warmly, she invited them inside, in which they accepted.
Yes, she truly wished that things would stay peaceful like this for a long time.
