Chapter Text
Namjoon has a pretty good self control but it falls apart very easily when it comes to Jungkook. No matter how hard he tries to ignore the younger's pout and big eyes, eventually he'll give in to whatever Jungkook wants.
He also seems to lose control of his face muscles' control everytime Jungkook sings, giggles, and sometimes, even when the man does nothing but breathe.
He already lost count on how many times Jungkook made him smile in class while teaching— To the point where Namjoon's students are already used to it by now.
Apparently, today is that kind of day. While he needs to give his students a lecture, Namjoon needs to take a moment in the middle of explaining something. There's no use of hiding his smiles but he did it anyway.
"It's his soulmate again." One of his students whispers, or not, since Namjoon can hear them.
"Sorry, can you give me ten seconds?" With his tall figure, there's pretty much no room for him to hide under the desk. Even crouching down wouldn't help him much. "I heard someone laugh."
Once he gets up, Namjoon tries to ignore the various kinds of 'aw' and coos from his students. At least the furthest students from him can't see how red his face is right now.
"It's not fair how I'm the only one distracted by my soulmate."
His students laugh, some complain about how they still haven't heard their soulmate yet and it really brings back memories.
"Okay, that's enough break time. Let's continue discussing the topic we were talking about."
---
"Hi hyung." Jungkook is standing outside Namjoon's class, his long hair tied up into a bun. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Don't act all innocent, you brat."
A single giggle and there it goes, Namjoon's attempt to be mad at Jungkook is gone in a blink of an eye.
"Did they tease you?"
"They know it's because of you, baby." Namjoon sighs, holding Jungkook's hand once they're outside of the campus.
"Want to watch some movies later, hyung?"
"I need to grade my students' projects, Kook." Namjoon pouts, mimicking Jungkook's solemn look.
"You're so busy. I need my cuddles too you know."
There's a lot of work Namjoon should work on before the deadline bites him in the ass. He's the type to not postpone things and finish it in one go when he can. But it caused Jungkook to complain a lot about not getting enough attention from him.
"I'll cuddle you once I'm done, okay?"
His boyfriend looks disappointed, but there's a mischievous glint in his eyes for a split second before he masks it again.
Once they arrive, Jungkook surprisingly doesn't cling and tries to drag him to the couch with him. Instead, he let Namjoon walk into their bedroom to change, not even complaining like he did on their way home.
"You're oddly quiet."
"What? I'm normal ." Jungkook is a better liar than Namjoon but that doesn't mean he could always get away from it.
With a remote on his hand, Jungkook sits comfortably on the couch, looking for something to watch on Netflix and doesn't even spare Namjoon a glance when he walks off to the bedroom to do his work.
Exactly ten minutes after that, Jungkook walks in. Namjoon doesn't mind him when he rummages through Namjoon's hoodie instead of his own.
When Namjoon looks up from his laptop, just to check on Jungkook since he's been really quiet the whole time, he realizes it's a mistake.
Namjoon is pretty sure he's doing it on purpose, seeing how slow Jungkook is taking off his T-shirt, intentionally showing his tiny waist as he drags the clothes up, pulling it off of his head. His muscles look strong and defined, such a contrast to the soft features on his face.
"You're staring."
Suddenly being caught staring, Namjoon averts his gaze from Jungkook back to his laptop. Namjoon doesn't even know how Jungkook could see that he's staring when the younger is standing with his back facing Namjoon.
"Did you grow eyes on the back of your head?"
"No need." Jungkook shrugs as he swiftly puts on Namjoon's hoodie. "I know you."
"Very inviting but sadly not enough to stop me from working, Jungkook-ah."
Jungkook folds his hand in front of him, pretty pink lips once again turning into a pout. " Hyung ," He whines.
"I'll be quick, baby. I promise."
"Okay." Finally Jungkook gives in. He drags his feet outside to go back to sit on the couch, hopefully finding something to kill time to wait for his soulmate.
One hour passed and Namjoon is still inside the bedroom. Whatever Jungkook is watching right now has become even more boring with the wait. Not that he actually watched it as he was anticipating his soulmate to walk in anytime he's done with the work.
Tired of waiting, Jungkook decides to tease Namjoon a little bit— He walks into the kitchen and pretends to look at the things inside their refrigerator, just so he could go further from their bedroom.
He starts singing, softly at first as he glances toward the bedroom's direction, making sure Namjoon is still there and hasn't come out.
Singing songs Namjoon likes would beat the purpose of getting him distracted, so Jungkook picked the worst song he could ever think of. Something that will annoy Namjoon and force him out of the bedroom to complain and hopefully , take a break from his work.
From bad ads jingles, to overplayed radio songs that make Namjoon groan when it's being played in public, Jungkook decides to sing it all, no exception until his soulmate steps outside of the bedroom.
Surprisingly, it doesn't take long for Namjoon to finally go out of the bedroom, looking tired and annoyed at the same time. The moment their eyes met, Jungkook let out a loud laugh, feeling triumphant while Namjoon sighs and flops to the couch.
"You're lucky you're cute." Namjoon sounds tired but Jungkook thinks it's good because that means his hyung needs to take a break. "And my soulmate because I nearly lost my goddamn mind."
"Aww hyungie." Without hesitation, Jungkook jumps into Namjoon's lap, wrapping his arms around his soulmate. "Maybe you can use some break time?"
Namjoon is not even mad when Jungkook grins at him, eyes innocent like he didn't purposely distract him a few minutes ago.
"How did you memorize all those weird jingles? You've been planning this for days?"
"No." Still overjoyed by his success, Jungkook let himself be comfortable, placing his head on the juncture between Namjoon's neck and shoulder. "It's just stuck in my head."
"Yikes."
"But it's useful."
Jungkook and his 100 ways to get his way is working again this time. Namjoon is not surprised.
"Let's lie down." Namjoon says as he does so on the couch, his back hitting the soft cushions. Like an actual baby, Jungkook clings on top of him and curls into himself, trying to make himself as small as possible.
"Hi, hyung." Jungkook says when he lifts his head, propping his head on Namjoon's chest.
"Hi, silly." The urge to boop Jungkook's nose increases when he starts to scrunch his nose. "You look pretty."
"And you look dead."
"I agree, not gonna argue with that." He's been drowning with work and running on four hours of sleep this week. The things that make sure he's alive are coffee, Jungkook, and the food Yoongi occasionally sends to him and Jungkook.
"I love you." Jungkook suddenly says, then proceeds to steal a kiss from Namjoon.
"I love you too, baby."
This time, Namjoon kisses Jungkook properly. The familiar feeling of Jungkook's soft lips meeting his plump ones feels amazing. His hands sit comfortably on Jungkook's waist, making circle motions with his thumbs. Namjoon can feel the breathy whimpers Jungkook lets out when his hand starts to wander to Jungkook's back, caressing the soft skin lovingly.
"Hyung." The puffs of air are warm when it hits Namjoon's lips as they part to catch their breaths.
"Hm?" Namjoon smiles, adoring his work of art when he sees how red Jungkook's lips are, glistening under the natural light that comes into their apartment. "Good?"
"Good." Jungkook croaks out while peppering Namjoon's face with kisses.
"Maybe we should take a nap, Kook."
"You think so?" Jungkook doesn't let Namjoon answer as he captures Namjoon's lips one more time. Still soft since he knows his soulmate is tired.
Jungkook could never get enough of how pillowy and soft Namjoon's lips are. When Jungkook darts his tongue to his hyung's bottom lip, it sends a shiver down his spine by how soft it feels like. Namjoon gasps, parting his lips, granting Jungkook the access to taste him more.
"I missed you."
Namjoon is pretty sure he doesn't need Jungkook to say anything because it's all conveyed by the way he kisses him today.
"I missed you too, baby." Namjoon says, running his hand through Jungkook's soft black locks which were now let loose from his usual bun. "I'm sorry I've been really busy."
"It's okay, I understand hyung."
"But next time please don't torture me with that kind of way again, alright?"
Jungkook laughs heartily and Namjoon could feel the vibration from Jungkook on his chest. "No promises, hyung."
Namjoon closes his eyes, fighting his urge to sleep as he wants to give Jungkook as much attention he could before passing out.
"It's okay, sleep, hyung."
"But my baby still needs more attention." The last word is almost inaudible as Namjoon says it while yawning.
"I'm okay, let's just take a nap real quick, hyung. You deserve it."
"You're the best, Jungkook-ah."
"So, what should I sing as a lullaby today?"
