I've fixed some typing errors in the first one, ok? I'm sorry about that, as I said before english is not my mother language. This is why I took so long to post this one, I've read it a hundred times to make sure it didn't have errors. I'm sure there is though and please feel free to correct me.
Hope you guys like this chapter too, I've added dialogues to the Infinity War's scenes and a lot of details from the movies too. Hope you'll catch them!

Chapter Text

I’m not alone. I have a family now. Although Wanda felt scared with the news at first, this thought filled her with instant joy. I’ll never be alone anymore.

That same night an hour later they left their rented room when the rain had stopped so she could eat something. Most restaurants were already closed given how late it was and the streets were almost completely empty.

Wanda was staring at a mannequin in a dark random shop window that she couldn’t even tell what they would sell there. She was lost in her thoughts when she saw Vision crossing the street towards her by the reflection.

“No luck. They’re closing as well” Vision said about the diner he just came from.

He hugged her from behind and she smiled as she adjusted the beanie on her head.

“Wanda, we're running out of options. Should we consider… your powers as one?” Vision suggested she would 'convince' the manager to keep the diner open a little longer.

“I don’t want to take any risks.” Wanda answered. She knew she could do it easily but she didn’t trust her powers completely. She made a deal with Steve and Natasha that she would be careful with it and therefore she only used her powers when really necessary. But more than that, what she didn’t want to risk was her chance to be there with Vision. She could just blow it up if anything went wrong. After all, she’s been locked before and if it weren’t for Steve, she wouldn’t be free now. She didn’t have plans to go back to the prison.

“Right.” Vision agreed. He normally wouldn’t be in favor of what he just suggested himself but he was concerned that they wouldn’t find any other place open.

“It’s ok, I think there’s a cafeteria ahead.” She said. Wanda was the first between them to arrive in Scotland a couple of weeks earlier so she had a few hours to explore the area herself as she waited for him to get there.

Vision wasn’t used with an optimistic version of Wanda. But he was enjoying it. She looked happy.

“If there’s not an open place we could always order room service.” He suggested as a last resource before kissing her shoulder over the coat.

“I’m not that hungry.” She replied as a joke and Vision laughed. Wherever in the world they met, their only option was to stay in hotels that weren’t exactly five stars considering that they had to hide because Wanda was a fugitive since their Civil War a couple of years earlier. Vision never tried food before but he knew that if he could, the room service from those hotels wouldn’t be his first option either.

“We’ll find something for you to eat.” He kissed the back of her head as his hands gently slid down to her stomach. “We’ll take care of these little ones”.

The couple looked at themselves by the reflection of the shop window. Vision was saying something but Wanda didn’t pay attention. Her memory instantly recalled her of something when her eyes were caught by the mannequin ahead of her that wore a black dress, boots and a red jacket.

“Wanda? Is there something wrong?” Vision asked her when she didn’t answer to whatever he was saying.

She took a deep breath before answering.

“When Pietro and I were homeless, he would always come with new clothes for me.” She commented. “I hated knowing he was stealing things because I was scared that he would get…” Vision watched Wanda’s smile fading away by the reflection as she interrupted herself. “But I loved the smile on his face every time he came with something new. He just enjoyed giving gifts to people and helping them as much as he could.”

“He was the Sokovian version of Robin Hood then.” Vision smiled to comfort her..

Wanda grinned for a second before sighing. Something else seemed to bother her.

“He would have been so happy. About this.” Wanda touched Vision’s hands on her stomach.

“I’m certain he would be an excellent uncle.” Vision declared, trying to cheer her up.

Wanda turned to him with a sudden smile on her face.

“He probably would’ve insisted all day for me to eat something just like you did. We’d fight because he would get mad at me and then later he would bring me two pacifiers as a present that he had stolen from somewhere.”

Vision couldn’t help but smile everytime Wanda did. It meant the world to him. Her smile.

She hardly shared her memories, usually she would keep things for herself. Especially when it came with a lot of pain.

“Wanda. You’re so strong.” Vision kissed her forehead and brought her to his chest gently, hugging her tightly and resting his chin on the top of her head. “Once I told you that I couldn’t presume what you were feeling because I’ve always been alone so I didn’t feel the lack. But now… I understand. It hurts when you’re not around. Even though I know I’m seeing you soon. I can’t imagine what it’s like for you.”

Wanda lifted her head and glared at him.

Vision was different from anyone Wanda had ever met. Not that she knew many people in her peculiar life. She had the Avengers as a reference since they were teaching her a lot, especially Steve who she became close to in the last years and even more now that both of them were hiding from the authorities. But despite the fact that Vision was also an Avenger, he was different and not only physically. It’s like he’s discovering and exploring everything for the first time. Every sensation; every new feeling.

Vision was really smart. He had his own database of course but what he didn’t have were experiences. It was as if he knew the theory but not the practice. He was aware of the definition of things but hasn’t seen everything yet through his own eyes or felt on his synthetic skin.

Wanda was still glaring at him when he touched her face and traced it with his fingertips just like if he was knowing it for the first time.

Vision thought it might be the perfect time to talk to her about them both staying. Now even more than before, all things considered. He’d like to know how everything would be from now on. He just couldn’t bear being far from her anymore and now even less. For sure they couldn’t remain in that same position of meeting each other just once in a while. Not anymore.

He tried to put together all the words he meant to say but they didn’t come out. He was scared of something but he just didn’t understand what. Maybe of her answer. The fact that they were having kids didn’t exactly mean that she would accept taking one more step in their relationship right away.

Relationship. Vision actually didn’t even know if he could call it that since they never talked about it. He felt the need to do so plenty of times but he didn’t know how. He didn’t understand much about relationships of any kind. All that he knew was that everything felt meaningless when she wasn’t with him.

A part of Vision didn’t have any doubts about Wanda’s feelings for him. But there was too much going on. He didn’t know if she would accept to risk staying, she was the one in a complicated situation. She was the one between them who had to hide. It was a decision that involved many things and he didn’t even know if she was willing to try to change how things were now. It could be too risky for her. Also, he didn’t know all the details about the deal Wanda made with Steve and if she would mind breaking that. He could only speak for himself and about the deal he made with Stark.

When he finished tracing all of her face she kissed him. He returned the kiss with love and although having Wanda in his arms was what he loved the most in the whole world, he remembered they had something urgent to take care of.

“Wanda? If we don’t hurry we won’t find you anything to eat.”

She nodded once and they held each other’s hands as they walked towards the cafeteria that Wanda mentioned before.

“Vis? When do you think that… this happened, exactly?” She questioned, looking down quickly before lifting her head again. It wasn’t like she could simply visit a doctor. She suddenly felt bad for her current situation. These tiny little hearts deserve much more than a mother who has to hide from everyone. She definitely wished a much better life for them than the one she had. But she pushed the thought out of her mind for now. She knew that if she let herself be drawn into that, it would be hard to keep the negative thoughts away. Above everything, she was happy now.

She changed a lot in the last years. She wasn’t the girl who only wore black nail polish anymore. And Vision had a major role in this change. She was lighter and definitely happier when actually she had believed she wouldn’t be able to be those things again.

Her change was visible to him. She had left behind the girl with dark hair from when they met. Now she was a woman. A more decided and secure one. Vision was proud of who she had become and he was certain that Pietro would be too.

“I’d say from the last time we’ve met, in Ireland.” He answered as his thumb caressed her hand. “I came to that conclusion because so far their heartbeats have been between 140 and 160 bpm. Which means you’re probably around weeks 9 to 10.”

Wanda wondered how she didn’t notice before. Probably because she was distracted with the crazy routine she was in. Vision had the Avengers compound to return to at least. On the other hand, Wanda’s life was resumed by running and hiding in very weird hotels most of the time.

She didn’t understand much about pregnancy, but those heartbeats seemed to be in a very high number.

“Is that normal?” She questioned.

“Yes.” He looked at her as they walked. “It wouldn’t be if they were too slow or irregular. I can assure you that’s not the case.” He pressed her hand trying to comfort her.

Her eyes sparkled.

“This is crazy.” She announced more to herself, in awe.

“I know.” Vision smiled at her as they crossed the street. “But it’s happening.”

“I feel like… Telling someone the news.” Her tone was like what she was saying was the weirdest thing in the world. Wanda could say she never felt the urge to share her happiness before. “But-” Wanda started but she didn’t need to finish. Vision understood perfectly what she meant. There wasn’t anyone. Even if there was, she would prefer not to say a word. She had lost too much in her life and she would probably keep that to herself as much as she could as a form of protection. She only wished Pietro was there so she could tell him.

“You can tell me.” He smiled at her innocently. “I will pretend I don’t know”.

Vision is definitely my cure.

Before she could say anything, Vision looked ahead and started to whistle very low pretending he was distracted. Wanda smiled.

“You’re a terrible actor.” She said with her accent that he loved so much, letting go of his hand as she stopped. Maybe he would be a very good one from those sitcoms she loved. She could definitely picture him as the goofy and passionate husband who always tried to do everything right innocently but ended up messing things up.

Vision ignored her, waiting for her to interfere the way he expected her to as he kept walking.

“Vis?” She called him.

“Yes, my love?” He stopped and looked at her as she was the only person in the entire world.

She took three more steps until she was in front of him. They both stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds before her mouth formed the words.

“I’m pregnant.”

Vision’s expression was instantly filled with tenderness. For a second, Wanda almost forgot that he already knew. His reaction was pure affection.

“Oh, Wanda.”

He held her face with both of his hands and kissed her all over it. Next, Vision bent down and opened her coat that was already unbuttoned so he could kiss her stomach.

By the time he stood up he could swear he had seen her green eyes watering but she was good at hiding it.

“Oh, Wanda.” Vision repeated and placed a kiss on her forehead.

“A cookie for the pregnant lady!” A woman yelled with a Scottish accent from the cafeteria’s door right in front of the couple and they looked at each other.

...

A large protein salad, two waffles and a cookie later, Wanda and Vision were walking back at their rented room.

“So there’s a 10 a.m. to Glasgow which would give us more time together before you went back” She said as they crossed the street holding hands.

“What if I miss that train?” He asked her. One way or another, they just found out she was pregnant. He didn’t want to leave that fast.

“There’s an 11.” She answered as they both stopped by the sidewalk and he let go of her hand so he could be in front of her.

“What if I missed all the trains?” Vision questioned. “What if this time I didn’t go back?”

He finally started the conversation he was waiting for the whole week. And even more now since that night had changed everything.

“But you gave Stark your word.” She stated.

“I’d rather give it to you.” He replied quickly. Vision wasn’t selfish. But what he felt for her was stronger than everything. He wanted Wanda to know that he was there for her and their twins.

“Well, there are people expecting me too, you know. We both made promises.” She explained as she put both of her hands in her pockets. The weather seemed to be cooling down even more. Now she was grateful that Vision had convinced her to take her coat and a beanie.

“Not to each other.” He argued.

Wanda didn’t want to say goodbye to Vision one more time. But she also didn’t want to break her promises to Steve. Not after everything he had been doing for her all this time. In addition, he and Natasha had been texting her on an old device they had given her asking when she would come back and she ignored them for the first time. It wasn’t exactly on purpose since all Wanda could do lately was sleep. But also she didn’t make the effort to reply and she was feeling guilty.

She tried to think the best way to express her perspective over things. She just felt like both her and Vision had pendencies to solve before deciding anything. Normally she wouldn’t care about rules of any kind, but she was tired of all that mess. Wanda was already a fugitive from the authorities, she didn’t want to be a fugitive from the Avengers as well. Especially from a team that welcomed her with arms wide open.

“Wanda,” Vision started as he held both of her shoulders. “for two years, we’ve stolen these moments trying to see if this could work and...I don’t know… I-I… Pers-...” he stammered. Definitely this wasn’t going as he planned which just made him even more nervous. “You know what, I’m just gonna speak for myself. I-I-think I-I think-”

“It works.” She smiled proudly.

“It-It works.” He agreed.

“It works.” She repeated nodding.

“Stay.” He asked, looking into her green eyes. He winked at her. “Stay with me.”

If Vision was trying to convince her, it definitely happened.

Suddenly a new thought occurred to her. She knew that Stark didn’t trust her. If Vision went back after he turned off his transponder, definitely he would have to hear from him. One way or another Vision was risking himself being around her. Someone could just see him walking around with a fugitive and things could go very wrong. Stark wouldn’t allow that, would he? Maybe Vision had a reason to turn off his transponder. What if Stark pressed him somehow? She didn’t know. What if when Vision goes back Stark tries to prevent him from seeing her somehow? Wanda couldn’t tell if he was capable of something like that but what she knew was that she could expect anything from someone that tried to lock her in the Avengers compound.

She was putting the words together to answer as her eyes were caught by a screen on the shop window right after Vision.

“Or not. If I’m overstepping…” Vision observed her reaction nervously. He just hoped he didn’t mess everything up. He definitely would rather keep things slow than lose her.

She approached the shop window as she read the news on the TV: “New York attacked”.

“What are they?” She gasped watching those creatures attacking the city.

“What the stone was warning me about.” Vision answered, now standing beside her.

The writing on the screen changed to “Tony Stark missing” and Vision looked at Wanda. He pulled her hand and kissed it quickly on the knuckles right above the several rings she wore.

“I have to go.” He stepped back.

“Vision. Vision, if that’s true then… then maybe going isn’t the best idea.” A wave of fear just hit her. She didn’t want him taking any risks. Especially now.

“Wanda, I-” He tried to answer but was interrupted by a blade crossing his back.

“Vision!” Wanda screamed covering her mouth with both of her hands.

Vision yelled out and turned back to his true form. There he was: all red again. But this time lying on the floor with a blade-shaped deep cut through him.

The weird creature that attacked him growled and stared at Wanda with rage. Red lights emerged from both of her hands as she armed herself, but before she could throw that monster away her back got shot - with whatever kind of alien weapon that was - by a second creature. This one had blue hair and looked more like a woman.

Wanda was thrown across the street and hit a window of a closed diner. She fell inside of it and Vision’s eyes were filled with concern. No, no, no. Wanda. He feared for her and their babies that were yet so fragile inside of her.

He was barely able to move until both of the monsters were pressing him against the asphalt. The one with the blade pointed it to Vision’s forehead right exactly where the mind stone was. He was trying to rip it out of him.

Vision screamed in pain and Wanda didn’t take more than a couple of seconds to recover. She grunted and hit the creatures with her powers knocking them down. She took advantage of the time she bought with that and flew Vision and herself to where she assumed was a quick safe spot to hide.

“The blade. It stopped me from phasing.” Vision stated.

Wanda helped him to sit down behind a large concrete column.

“Is that even possible?” She asked him as she looked at his injury, instantly using her powers to close it in the best way she could.

“It wasn’t supposed to be. My systems are failing.” He declared.

Wanda was trying to help him on the outside but he seemed really damaged inside.

“I’m beginning to think we should’ve stayed in bed.” He said, giving reason to her. Wanda didn’t want to go out.

They both smiled at each other exchanging looks. But in the end, Wanda thought that it was better this way. If she hadn't gone with him, he would’ve been out alone to get food for her. Who knows what might have happened.

As soon as Vision saw the creature with the blade approaching them, he pushed Wanda behind the other column so it wouldn’t hit her.

“Vis!” She yelled when it pulled him and they left fighting with each other in the air.

Wanda wasn’t able to help him once the blue haired one was attacking her now. She defended herself as she could but it was hard considering she needed some distance between herself and it’s weapon to use her powers but the woman seemed to not let that happen on purpose.

In consequence it eventually hit her. She was thrown away and rolled on the ground. She barely had the time to stop that creature from killing her when it set upon her but fortunately she was able to hold it very quickly.

Meanwhile, Vision was struggling.

“Give up the stone and she lives.” Vision heard from the monster as he was being held against a wall. How could anyone dare threaten Wanda and their children like that?

Vision knew that Wanda was far more powerful then himself but he didn’t care. He would die trying to protect who he loved if necessary.

Anger filled his wires in a way he never felt before and he reacted by taking the creature by the throat and leading it to a tower where they kept fighting.

Vision attacked it with the mind stone but it was smart and used its weapon to reflect the stone’s power back to the synthezoid.

Wanda heard him screaming and immediately threw the blue haired creature against a truck burning in flames. By the time she got to Vision, the yellow stone on his forehead was almost being ripped off again.

“Hands off!” She yelled at the monster hitting it with her powers. As soon as it fell, she hugged Vision by his side and flew them both away.

Their attempt to escape may have worked if the bluish creature hadn’t shot them with the blue glow its weapon had.

Wanda lost control and they were separated from each other in the air but before they could hit a ceiling glass Vision managed to pull her back, so he did his best to protect her by holding her tight against his chest in a way she would have him to cushion the fall on the floor.

It didn’t work exactly as he wanted and both of them groaned as they were dragged aggressively on the floor until the speed from the fall was over. Vision even hit a fence made of steel.

Wanda stood up right away and ran to him.

“Come on, come on. Come on. You gotta get up. You gotta get up. Come on.” She tried to encourage him as she helped him to sit with some difficulty. “Hey, we have to go.”

Vision shook his head. He couldn’t. He was just going to hold her back. She and the two tiny little hearts inside of her would have a better chance if she left by herself.

He placed his right hand on her cheek gently to make sure she would listen to him. Three long cuts on her face made him get even angrier.

“Please. Please, leave.” He asked her.

Wanda didn’t even consider his request.

“You asked me to stay.” She answered breathing heavily. “I’m staying.” She declared.

“Pleas-”

Vision was interrupted when the two monsters reached them. He knew Wanda could handle them both but he was scared for her and their babies.

She stood up instantly between him and the creatures, arming herself with a red light glowing on both of her palms.

Before she could do anything, a train horn blared and she noticed the looks on those monster’s faces. There was something behind her. She only turned to see Steve.

Wanda smiled and let him take the fight when she realized he hadn’t come alone. Natasha and Sam were there too. The Avengers didn’t take much time to get rid of the horrendous pair.

“Can you stand?” Sam asked as he and Wanda helped Vision to do so.

“Thank you, Captain.” The synthezoid was grateful. He knew Steve didn’t need to help him once he was on Tony Stark’s side of the team and yet he did.

“Let’s get you on the jet.” He simply answered.

The newly arrived trio guided Wanda and Vision to the quinjet they’ve used to get there. As soon as they left the floor Natasha scolded Wanda.

“Now, I thought we had a deal. Stay close, check in, don’t take any chances.” She complained as she sat behind Sam who was leading the jet.

“I’m sorry. We just wanted time.” Wanda apologized. She was sitting on the right side of the aircraft with Vision, a little far from the rest of the Avengers. Her hand was resting on his tight as a way to comfort him. His was above hers.

Sam being the pilot asked Steve where they were headed to and his answer was “Home”. If the conditions were different, Wanda could even feel a little excitement. She missed having a home. Even if home was somewhere she was locked in so she wouldn’t go out and mess things up. But that was all she knew in her life: being locked up or not having a home at all.

Steve told the couple the little he knew about what was going on. He only had a short version of the recent events resumed by Banner when he called him in despair through Stark’s old device. They would talk about the details as soon as the team got there.

Once their fly was steady, Wanda reached out her hand to Vision’s wound again, trying to help him a little more with her powers.

“Wanda?” He called quietly and she looked up at him. Her seat was lower than his. “How are you feeling?” His face couldn’t hide his concern.

“I’m ok. But if I knew we were fighting aliens tonight I wouldn’t have eaten that much.” She responded, trying to distract him from what she was doing. Now that the adrenaline was gone and her muscles weren’t tense anymore, she was feeling her entire body aching. Probably because of three times she fell and rolled on the floor during the fight. It wasn’t the first time she felt that way though. It used to happen every time she was on the battlefield or even when Steve trained her. She was fine but there was something she wanted to ask Vision: “Can you hear-”

“Yes.” He confirmed with a weak smile before she could finish. “I can hear them.” He was watching out for them.

Wanda exhaled in relief. Not only for her but it meant something good if Vision could still adjust his audio receptors. He would be ok too. Everything is ok.

“Do you think they’ve noticed?” Vision asked about the Avengers and she observed his expression trying to understand what he was referring himself to. At first she thought he was talking about his obvious deep cut. It was only when she saw his eyes at her stomach that she realized what he truly meant.

“No.” She answered, looking back at his wound to focus on what she was doing. “Not everyone has super ears like you do.” She responded and Vision quickly noticed she was upset because she couldn’t hear the twins hearts like he could.

“Can you read them?” He asked curiously.

Wanda shook her head softly.

“You’ll probably be able to when their nervous system is fully developed.”

“I guess so.” That was the same conclusion she had come to. That she probably would be able to read them only when their brains were fully formed.

“Wanda.” Vision lifted her chin with his index finger. “You know that you can use your powers on me, right?”

She knew. She knew that she could access his head. But it didn’t feel fair for some reason. Not even mentioning that he was already weak and she didn’t want to interfere if not to help him.

“I think this is the best I can do.” She removed her hand from his wound that still existed but was much smaller now.

“Thank you, love.” He was grateful but at the same time he felt bad for making her spend her energy on him after everything they’ve been through that night. “Those cuts on your face look deep. I think we should get them cleaned.”

Wanda lifted her hand towards herself and within a second her palm had that red light glowing again. Her fingers made a swift move in the air and she groaned as almost imperceptible tiny shards of glass left the three cuts she had on her face.

Vision frowned, surprised. He hadn’t noticed those shards of glass before. He wasn’t human and didn’t have blood running through his wires but it hurt him just to watch.

“You should’ve let me help. You could have hurt yourself even more.” He complained.

She didn’t answer. Wanda was too quiet but Vision blamed the tiredness she was probably feeling. Instead of saying something she just dried the blood holding against her cuts a towel that Steve had given them as soon as they entered the quinjet.

It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep in that same position she was, sitting but with her head resting on Vision’s tight. He tried to wake her to convince her to sit properly with the seatbelt on but she refused to leave him. He just wished he was strong enough right now to pick her up and put the seatbelt on her himself while she slept.

Her hand that was resting on his leg was very cold. At some point Vision just couldn’t bear watching her sleeping like that anymore. He looked around to check the other three Avengers and they were distracted talking between them looking towards the quinjet’s panel. Vision didn’t hesitate and pulled Wanda to hold her in his arms. He put his feet up and tried to recline his seat a little so he would have more support to hold her on his lap. He had the seatbelt on, if anything happened he would just hold her tight. At least that was better than letting her sleep loose on the floor.

She barely opened her eyes and cuddled up to him being careful with his wound.

“You okay?” She whispered with her eyes closed now.

“Yes, my love. Go back to dreaming.”

Vision wasn’t sure she heard his answer. He observed her chest rise and fall slowly and imagined as he had done before many times how it was like to be human . But he was happy just to be there and felt the luckiest person - if he could call himself that - in the entire world to have Wanda by his side. She was all he needed.

He admired her, counting the small moles on her face. Another thing that Vision always did and knew the answer perfectly, but he didn’t care, he just loved to look at each one of them. He hoped that at least one of their twins would have them too.

Wanda was so strong. It didn’t matter how many times Vision saw her fighting but he would get all proud every time. It was fantastic to watch her grow personally and get more confident about her powers even if sometimes she still had doubts about it. She was really strong and yet so vulnerable. He loved both sides of her. Everything just made her even more beautiful.

Vision’s lips touched the tip of her cold nose and next her forehead as his thoughts diverged.

She would stay. She said she was going to stay. A smile emerged from his lips even through the pain he was feeling in his synthetic skin. He had everything he needed.

With his arms around Wanda, Vision caressed her shoulder with his thumb. He laid his head on top of hers as he adjusted his own settings again to hear the three hearts inside of her. There they were, all safe and sound.

Vision’s moment of bliss was interrupted when he noticed Sam gesturing with his head towards himself and Wanda so he changed the focus of his audition just in time to hear the other Avengers voice coming from the quinjet’s cabin.

“Did you guys see that coming?” He asked quietly as if he didn’t want anyone else but Steve and Natasha to hear.

“Yes.” Steve simply said with his arms crossed as usual.

“I don’t understand a thing about robots but I thought… I mean, he has feelings?” Sam speculated.

“He’s a synthezoid.” Steve corrected him although he didn’t understand much more about it than Sam.

“Do you think it’s because of the stone? Did it draw them together?” Sam was curious.

“Who knows?” Steve shrugged it off. “I’m just happy for them. They are good for each other.”

“It’s just that… I’m no one to judge but for a rob- synthezoid I thought he wouldn't be capable of being selfish to the point of turning off his transponder forcing Tony to call you to track him down.”

“Banner called me.” Steve corrected Sam for the second time. “But yes, it was from his phone.” He agreed. “He couldn’t find Vision but I suppose he guessed he would be with Wanda. And you know, we were in touch with her. At least until recently.”

Sam looked at Steve as he was just proving his point.

“I don’t know if it’s the stone or not. But we have to protect it from whatever is threatening it.” Steve explained and he continued to speak when he realized Sam wouldn’t stop. “I trained Wanda, we all lived together. I was there and I had to answer a billion questions from Vision about feelings until he just didn’t ask anymore. He was feeling. I watched it all happening and I don’t think he is selfish. If I could be with someone I love I would, nobody is breaking any bylaws. She’s not the most open person in the world but with him she seems very relaxed.” He repeated the same words he told Banner about Natasha a few years ago. “We deserve a win once in a while, even if it doesn’t come for all of us.” Steve looked at the couple as his mind was filled with memories from someone else.

“Living the way we live I guess it’s luck to find something like that.” Natasha finally spoke, staring at the couple. “Despite her disappearance, we cannot complain. Let’s face it, she’s much more in control of her powers now.”

They stood quiet for a minute before Sam broke the silence with a joke.

“Too bad he isn’t human. A child with the genes of those two would be a very strong Avenger and the only kid on earth born with superpowers. Or it could be a much improved version of Stark you know, because of the wires… Alright, forget it. At least they will never have to deal with diaper accidents, I'm sure they would be very powerful too.” He thought about his own nephews.

“I don’t know about the wires but Vision has a DNA when he’s in his human form, doesn’t he?” Steve asked a rhetorical question and left to take a water bottle from the back of the aircraft.

Selfish? Vision wasn’t selfish. If after hearing that he had any doubts, he proved to himself he wasn’t selfish at all considering the thoughts that crossed his mind about the stone for the rest of the night.

Vision didn’t have all the details about why or who was threatening the stone yet. Regardless of his limited knowledge about that, he was certain that whoever wanted it hardly had good intentions. That object has given him life and despite the fact that he didn’t understand all about it either, he knew it was a powerful thing so he had to prevent it from being used to harm people.

And he found a way. He wasn’t sure yet if he was going to need to propose that ideia to his colleagues but he found a way to protect people and most importantly, Wanda and their twins. She just wasn’t going to like it. She doesn’t deserve it. She would hate it.

With that in mind, Vision kept that idea as a last resource. He hoped it wouldn’t be needed but if it did, he would have to be prepared. At least Wanda wouldn’t be alone, the twins were coming in perfect time and Vision was grateful. But if everything in fact went wrong he couldn’t just leave his family homeless.

“Captain, do we have a printer?”.

...

It was already bright outside when Wanda woke up in a rush to go to the aircraft’s tiny bathroom, her hand cupping her mouth. By that moment Vision already had everything set in case it was needed.
