Chapter 1: Chisuke Ayako
Chapter Text
Ayako Chisuke
Quirk: Intent. She could read people's intent when they spoke. She also had heightened empathy, but it is unknown if that was just her nature or part of her quirk
Chisuke was in her last year of junior high at Aldera Junior High School when she committed suicide by jumping off the roof of the school. Her reason is unknown, although her little sister, Akiho Chisuke, aged 11, said that her late sister said she felt she was under a lot of pressure. She left behind her 3 siblings, Akiho (see above), Chiharu (age 8), and Genki (age 5). Her mother, Hanako Chisuke, said that she often had to babysit her younger siblings after school due to Ms. Chisuke working late. Chisuke's father died soon after Genki was born, due to a freak accident. Chisuke made straight A's, was part of many after school clubs, had many friends, and was quite popular at school. She was a good student who never got in trouble. Her teachers and classmates said that she was quite the people-pleaser. Her boyfriend at the time, Kaneye Yamamoto, said that she never spoke of this before. Her best friend, Aika Nakamura, said that she had tried to speak to her about it, but no avail. Nakamura said that some of Chisuke's past friends were emotionally abusive, and she was constantly cat-called due to her maturing faster. Nakamura believes that those instances may have caused her death.
Chapter 2: The Beginning....kind of
Summary:
This is loosely based off the vocaloid song Diary of an Underage Observer. It's really good so please go check it out!
Chapter Text
Ayako first met.....well it was more saw. They didn't actually meet until his 3rd year, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Ayako first saw Bakugou Katsuki when he just started at Aldera. She'd seen many interesting people, (after all, she's been at this school 67 years, 70 if you count her living years) but Bakugou was by far the most interesting. He seemed straight-forward, and yet he could never seem to say what he wanted when he wanted. He often directed his fear into anger, which turned things he thought about himself into insults directed at other people. He felt like he was the worst so he acted like he was the best. He was truly fascinating. She often followed him around. He didn't seem to have any friends, a product of his behavior, she presumed. Fascinating. Instead of getting thrown off by the millions of red flags that made up this 13 year old boy, she decided to find out why he was the way he was.
People liked to think that ghosts were bound to the place they died, as a punishment of sorts. While that was true for some, most ghosts could move freely, they just chose to stay in the same place as it was easier. One day, Ayako followed Bakugou home. She had suspected abuse, no kid turned out that way just because they got a bit of extra praise, but she hadn't realized it was this bad......
Notes:
HAHA A CLIFFHANGER!!
Kudos and comments are very appreciated and encouraged!
Chapter 3: The Family Plus Some Fears
Summary:
This chapter is basically Ayako's Big Sister Instincts™ go off as she sees red flag after red flag after red flag
Notes:
TW: Abuse and mentions of su!c!de- The whole first part is about that so I'll summarize it as best I can in the end notes
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
That woman was horrible. She yelled, she screamed, she hit, she grabbed. She had said words that hurt more than the bruises that were sure to be left on Katsuki's arm by how hard she was gripping his arm. His father wasn't much better. He was a major pushover. Ayako knew she was a people-pleaser and a bit of a pushover when she was alive, but it wasn't this bad. She didn't even know someone could be that big of a pushover. It was like he didn't even care. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he though this barely 13 year old somehow deserved this blatant abuse. She didn't understand how someone could think that. No one deserved this, but especially not a child! She was only 2 years older than him when she died, and the news was all over this 15 year old child who'd gone too soon. If he decided to go the way she did, would they call him a child like they did for her? Or would they blame it on him and insinuate he was selfish? She'd seen news channels do that before. There was a case about a young girl, 16 if she remembered correctly. Second year of high school. She was very aggressive and a bit of a bully, but she was also suicidal. Turns out, her father was very controlling and had anger issues, and her anger was a defense mechanism. Only the news didn't cover that. They essentially accused her of attempting for sympathy points. She just hoped they wouldn't do the same for Katsuki....
—————–—–———————————————–—–—————–—–———————————————–—–—————–—–—————
She noticed that Katsuki was quieter at school the next day. She also noticed the boy a few rows behind him with green hair, Midoriya, was looking up at Katsuki a lot more today. Quite frankly, she always found him a bit creepy. He was always watching Katsuki, like he was waiting for something. She didn't know what, but something. Katsuki was more than creeped out by him, sometimes being downright scared of him. Those rare moments were usually when Katsuki would double the insults. He was scared of many things, suprisingly.
Those things were as follows:
People, social interaction, and public speaking. She figured the first two at the same time when he was constantly fidgeting while talking to his classmates, and she figured the public speaking one when he got assigned a project he had to present and he damn near blew up the whole school with how much he was sweating.
His parents. Her heart could not take anymore heartbreak after figuring this out
Commitment and abandonment. That was when she figured out why he pushed people away.
Pictures. A strange one. Instead of facing it head on, he shied away from cameras. If you took his picture though, be prepared to introduce his fist to your face.
The dark. She figured out that one after he nearly had a panic attack when the lights went out in the middle of class.
Small enclosed spaces. She didn't even want to know why. The reason couldn't be good.
Spiders and roaches. She figured the spider one out when there was a spider in his room and he just froze. He just stared at it. It finally got out after an agonizingly long 15 minutes of him just staring at it. She figured the roach one out when a roach got into the classroom and everyone was freaking out (including him) and then it started FLYING so everyone started freaking out MORE and a couple people (including him) left the room. Luckily, no one made fun of him as they were freaking out even more than he was (outwardly anyways. He mostly freaked out inwardly).
Notes:
Ok so summary of the first part! Mitsuki is an abusive bitch, Masaru is a huge pushover who Ayako speculates doesn't even care, also there was a news report a few years back that accused a girl very similar to Katsuki of attempting for attention which Ayako hopes doesn't happen to Katsuki.
Also this fic is me projecting onto Bakugou, so his fears are all fears I've had at some point in my life (I DIDN'T KNOW ROACHES COULD FLY UNTIL I WOKE UP AT MY GRANDPARENTS HOUSE AND THERE WAS ONE FLYING AT ME- I was scarred for life dude)
Chapter 4: The little things
Notes:
HI SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG I JUST DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR IT BUT IM BACK NOW AND ARMED WITH AN OUTLINE SO I KNOW WHERE TO GO WITH THIS
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
His first year wasn't too eventful. It was mostly little things she found out about him. Like how he listens to a lot of old English music, and his favorite singer is Faith Marie. His favorite album, though, is a Japanese album called 'Diary of an Underage Observation'. He reads a lot of fanfiction, and even writes some for an anime. If a fic has any more than light making out he will either nope out of there or skip it. If he sees someone he finds attractive he will turn bright red and will have to focus VERY HARD to not blow something up. (She found this out when he saw a black-haired, red-eyed young man who looked to be around his age on the train). He can cook extremely well (She may or may not have stolen some of his leftovers). He is horrible at dealing with emotions, especially his own. He desperately needs therapy. You know, the little things. But middle of second year was when it started going downhill.
Notes:
I didn't know if I wanted to keep this on a cliffhanger or write some more, so I left this for like 3 hours then came back and decided to leave it on a cliffhanger even though it's really short. Update will come (hopefully) during the weekend!
Chapter 5: Ayako's Backstory
Summary:
Me: Yea I'm going to update over the weekend!
Writers block: *sneaks up behind me and hits me over the head with a club* Are you now?
LMAO IM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG-
Notes:
-TW: Suicide, mentioned/implied suicidal thoughts-
If any of these trigger you, I would advise you stop reading this fic, as it's only going to get worse from here on out
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Ayako knew she didn't have any reason to think like this. She had amazing friends, she had a great family, she made perfect grades, she had a fantastic boyfriend, she was popular, and she had a great quirk. What more could a 15 year old ask for? She was living everyone's dream. And yet, she was still thinking like this. She was so selfish. Why would she have all this and then just throw it all away? What would her friends think? Aika would think she wasn't enough. Aika knows she thinks like this.
Ayako wishes she could just open up. Why can't she?? She's known Aika her whole life! She should be able to open up!! Why can't she??? Maybe, in another life, she won't feel like this. In another life, she'd live a quiet life, with a small group of friends. She wouldn't feel like this, and if she did she'd be able to open up. Maybe she'd be able to stand up for herself. She wouldn't rely on others. She'd be able to accomplish her dreams. She'd be able to accept help as easily as she could give it. Those thoughts ran through her mind as she walked up to her school roof. She looked up at the sky. It was a beautiful day. Clear skies, sunny, warm. She took off her shoes and placed them neatly near the fence. She climbed the fence and looked down.
'This is it then' Ayako thought as she prepared to jump.

Why did she do it. She should have told someone. Now she's stuck on Earth forever. Life can seem long, but it's nothing compared to death. At least life ends. Death is forever.
Notes:
Lmao I left for like a week then hit y'all with this heavy angst oops-
Also one of my friends described Ayako as a dead therapist and now I can't get it out of my head since that's exactly what she is-
Chapter 6: An update
Chapter Text
Hey guys! I know I haven't posted in a while and that's because I've been really busy. I'm going on a small hiatus. I'll be back hopefully on June 12th, but it might be more like the 13th or 14th. I'm doing a lot over the summer, so updates will be very slow, but I'll get them out as often as I can! Thanks guys for your support!
Chapter 7: I'm sorry guys
Chapter Text
Hey guys, it's been a while eh? Well, I have sad news. I'm discontinuing this fic until further notice. I just don't have the motivation or writing skill to write this the way I want it. I'll hopefully be back sometime, but it's highly unlikely. I'm really sorry, but it's just the way it's going to be for now.
