Buffy's God-sisters Book 3

Chapter 40: Helpless Part 1

Chapter Text

It was the evening, and we had dinner at Angel's. Persephone, Benjamin, Wyatt, and Andrea were sleeping in their travel cots as Angel and I trained with the others watching. Before long, I hit the floor in front of the fireplace with one knee pulled up to my chest as Angel crouched over me, holding himself up with his arms while grinning at me. A second later, I used my other leg to throw Angel over me before he flipped backwards and landed on his back. We continued fighting before I knocked Angel back down, and I scrambled for a fake stake and grabbed a baguette from the blanket.

"Gotch!" I voiced as I stabbed him with the long loaf of bread while straddling him at the waist.

"Uhh! Right in the heart," Angel said in defeat.

"Satisfied?" I replied with a smile.

"I'm sure that's not the word," Angel responded.

"Well, I didn't mean like that as we haven't..." I started to say as I got up.

"No, we haven't even though..." Angel tried to say as he got up and joined me.

"'Cause we're not having satisfaction in the personal sense, as even though the curse is permanent, only to be taken by force," I voiced. "And we can't do that right now."

"Of course," Angel exhaled.

"We should go and the babies and Perspehone need their proper beds," I stated before facing him.

"And Giles..." Buffy started to say.

"... is waiting for you and Aurora," Angel interrupted. "I know."

"Thanks for the workout and dinner. I needed it," I told him with a smile.

"Um, are the plans still on this weekend?" Angel asked us.

"Right, birthday. Yes, we are still on plan, but Buffy kinda has a thing on Sunday," Kyra answered.

"Oh, a thing. A date?" Angel asked Buffy.

"Nice attempt at being protective. Actually, I do have a date," Buffy answered with a nod. "Older man. Very handsome. He likes it when I call him 'Daddy'."

"Your father... It is your father, right?" Angel questioned.

"He's taking me to the ice show," Buffy told him with a reassuring grin and nodded. "Which should be big fun. I haven't seen him in a long time."

I kissed Angel, Elijah, Cole and Sam goodbye as Cole and Sam were taking the babies back to the house with Dean, Leo, and Andy while Kate, Kyra, Buffy and I were heading to the library.

Thirty minutes later, we were at the library. Giles had told Kate and Kyra to patrol the school while he and a fellow watcher tested Buffy and me. Giles had us sit on chairs in front of the main table while he dangled a pink crystal in front of us. Both Buffy and I were playing with two long translucent crystals.

"This one, Aurora?" Giles asked as he pointed to one of the crystals that were on the table.

"Amethyst," I answered, as I knew about crystals due to being a Wiccan.

"Used for? Buffy?" the other watcher questioned.

"Breath mints?" Buffy guessed as she looked at him.

I stifled a giggle as Buffy didn't know anything about crystals, even though Kate, Kyra, Jeremy and I use them at home for protection.

"Charn bags, money spells and for cleansing one's aura," Giles sighed.

"Okay, so how do you know if one's aura is dirty? Somebody come by with a finger and write," Buffy voiced as she gestured with her crystal. "'wash me' on it?"

Giles set down his crystal on the table, took off his glasses and propped his arms on the table while leaning toward us.

"Girls, I've become aware of Buffy's disdain for studying vibratory stones and Aurora's pre-med classes, but this is part of your training. We would appreciate your glib-free attention," The other watcher stated with seriousness.

"Sorry. It's just with Faith on one of her unannounced walkabouts, I feel like somebody should be patrolling," I told him.

"Well, Faith is not interested in proper training, so I must rely on you two to keep up with yours," Giles responded as he looked at the crystals.

"I hate being one of the good ones," Buffy replied.

"And as for patrolling, well, you both will be there soon enough," Giles told us before looking at us with a curious look.  "Why so anxious?"

"I guess it. We have some more energy to burn," I answered.

"Well, in due time," Giles voiced as he placed his glasses on. "But, uh, for the present," He grabbed two large blue crystals. "If it's not entirely beyond your capabilities," He set it in front of Buffy. "Try to concentrate."

Buffy and I sighed before putting our concentration on the crystal.

After crystal training, Buffy, Kate, Kyra, and I patrolled the playground. Buffy and I were fighting vampires while Kate and Kyra used their powers.

"Wow, that was really funny-looking!" Buffy voiced before asking. "Could you do it again?" While she grinned widely.

"I'll kill you for that," The vampire told her as he jumped up.

"For that? What were you trying her for before?" Buffy questioned.

My vampire swung at me, but I ducked and came up behind him. We continued fighting.

"So, so here's the deal," I voiced as I raised my silver stake before I suddenly became dizzy.

I closed my eyes and stumbled backward in pain before the vampire seized me. He threw me to the ground and straddled me. Grabbing the stake from my hand, he watched as it sizzled in his grip before aiming it at my chest.

"Lemme know if I'm not doing this right," I voiced as I struggled with him on top.

I continued to struggle with the vampire atop me, realizing that it was losing the battle. Using my firepower, I managed to kill it. I glanced over at Buffy, who was facing a similar situation. I saw her fighting fiercely when suddenly the vampire impaled itself on her. In an instant, it burst into ashes. Afterward, Kate, Kyra, and I rushed to her side.

"Let's get home," I voiced.

We headed away from the playground and home.

When we got home, Leo healed our wounds before we had a shower and got into our pjs. We headed downstairs to the kitchen to see Leo and Cole feeding Benjamin and Wyatt while Andy fed Andrea.

"So, what happened during patrol?" Jenna asked as she set out tonight's snack.

"I don't know. But, Buffy and I got really dizzy and sick with a sudden pain as well," I answered.

"What could have caused it?" Kate questioned.

"We don't know," Buffy responded.

"We'll figure it out tomorrow," Kyra voiced. "Let's get some sleep."

Kate, Kyra and I burped out babies before taking them upstairs to our rooms.

Once we reached upstairs, we separated to go to our rooms. I placed Benjamin in his bassinet before brushing my teeth in the bathroom. After that, I went into Persephone's nursery and checked on her. She was asleep with Lady on the floor. I quietly closed the door before heading back into my room and went to sleep.

It was morning as I woke to Benjamin's crying. I got up and changed Benjamin's diaper before getting him into a clean outfit for daycare. I fed him and burped him before setting him back into the bassinet. I packed his daycare bag before getting ready myself for the day. I packed my college bag before I picked Benjamin up and grabbed the bags.

"Time for breakfast," I voiced as we headed downstairs.

When we went downstairs, Cole took Benjamin from me and fed him while I sat next to Persephone, who was eating.

"Morning," I said as a plate of French toast sticks and a Strawberry Smoothie cup was placed in front of me.

"Morning, how did you sleep?" Jenna asked.

"Okay, since what happened last night," I answered as Kate came into the room with Leo and Wyatt.

"Breakfast smells delicious," Kate voiced as she sat down.

"The babies are going to daycare for the first time," Kyra announced as she came into the room with Andrea and Andy.

"Let's eat," Buffy said as she sat down.

We got down and started eating as Jeremy joined us.

Once we finished eating, we cleaned up the babies and Persephone before heading out the door to our cars. We were on our way to the daycare. When we arrived, we met up with Bekah, Jo, and Astrid. After handing over the diaper bags, we kissed the babies and Persephone goodbye and entrusted them to Miss Amelia and Miss Anna, the toddler room teachers. After saying our goodbyes, we left the daycare and headed to the school to speak with Giles.

After we got to school, Kate, Kyra, Buffy, Cole, Dean, and Andy headed to the library to meet with Jenna, Giles, and Jenny. Buffy and I were throwing knives at a target and were missing.

"Bit early in the day," Giles voiced as he sipped his coffee.

"Something's wrong," Buffy blurted out.

"Wrong?" Jenny questioned as she stopped sipping her coffee.

They looked over at the target where our knives were stuck outside the target.

"Ah. Perhaps you shouldn't..." Giles said as Buffy threw another knife and missed. "... do that anymore." He set his briefcase down.

"On top of that, Aurora and Buffy got a bad case of the dizzies last night and almost got killed with their own stakes!" Kate exclaimed.

I threw another knife, only for it to go towards the stacks.

"We're off our game," Buffy voiced. "Our game has left the country. It's in Cuernavaca."

"Giles, what's going on here?" Cole asked.

"Well, perhaps, you've got a bad flu bug or something," Giles suggested as he sat down.

"No. No, not sick. I can't get sick. My dad's coming to take me to the ice show. We do it every year for my birthday. If I cancel, it's gonna break his heart," Buffy reacted.

"Well, just, um, take it easy for forty-eight hours. You know, forego patrolling until you both feel yourself again," Giles told us.

"Where's Klaus, Finn and Elijah?" Dean asked.

"They are doing some work out of town," Jenny voiced as Giles got up and went to his briefcase.

"We just need to spend a little more time training," Buffy announced as we grabbed a couple more knives.

Buffy threw one, and it broke a reading lamp.

"We're gone! We'll see you later, we have class," I announced as we turned and started leaving.

"Thank you!" Giles exclaimed as we left the library.

While Buffy went to her classes, the rest of us headed to the university for ours.

A short time skip...

It was lunchtime, and Oz, Xander, Willow, Buffy, Sam, Leo, Andy, Jo, Jeremy, and Bekah were eating while discussing where Buffy's dad was taking her.

"An ice show? A show performed on ice. And how old are we again?" Xander questioned.

"I went to Snoopy On Ice when I was little. My dad took me backstage, and I got so scared I threw up on Woodstock," Willow told them.

"Look, I know you guys think it's just a big, dumb, girlie thing, but it's not. I mean, a lot of those skaters are Olympic medal winners. And every year my dad buys a cotton candy and one of those souvenir programs that has all the pictures, and okay, it's a big, dumb, girlie thing, but I love it," Buffy responded.

"It's not so girlie. Ice is cool! It's water, but it's not," Oz pointed out.

"I think it's sweet that you and your dad have a tradition. Especially now that he's not around so much. Ixnay on the caramel corn, though, if you backstage," Willow told her as Buffy nodded in agreement.

"We're still having a party, right?" Xander asked. "I mean, we still love to celebrate your birthdays."

"I dunno, maybe. I'm just nervous because parties in our honour always seem to go bad. Monster crash and People die," Buffy answered.

"But eighteen and nineteen are the big ones. I mean, you and Jeremy can vote now with Kate, Kyra and Aurora. You can be drafted," Jo stated.

"You can vote not to be drafted," Willow pointed out with a smile.

"I think we'll celebrate this one with quiet reflection," Jeremy responded.

"Where is it written that quiet reflection can't be combined with cake and funny hats?" Andy questioned.

Buffy and Jeremy looked at each other before Buffy sighed.

"Okay, we'll stick with our mardi gras theme birthday and quiet reflection on the side," Buffy announced as the bell rang for classes.

They all got up and headed to class.

Switch Point of View...

After classes, we picked Persephone and the babies up from daycare. When we got home, I gave Persephone a small snack while the Cheesy Garlic Broccoli Pasta & Chicken Meatballs cooked in the crockpot. A while later, we were doing our homework as Buffy came in from the back door.

"Buffy?" Jenna and Aunt Joyce questioned as we heard the back door open.

"Present," Buffy announced as she and Jeremy came into the room, before she noticed flowers on the counter and smiled. "Ooo, present!"

"Uh, they're not. They're from your father," Jenna told her.

We put our things back into our bag as Buffy took the card and tickets from the arrangement and looked at them while I felt her deep disappointment.

"His, uh, quarterly projections are unravelling, and he couldn't afford to take off right now. He promises to make it up to you. It's all right here in the letter," Aunt Joyce voiced as we watched Buffy sadly fold up the tickets and the card without even opening it. "I-if you want, I could ask somebody to cover for me at the gallery. I-I mean, if you want me to take you."

"No. That's not necessary. I-I was just thinking it might be nice to see him," Buffy muttered before asking. "When's dinner going to be ready?"

"It's ready now," Jenna responded.

They plated up while I plated Persephone's dinner and cut up Persephone's chicken meatballs. I set the plate in front of her and gave her the fork. I plated my own dinner and got down to eating while I fed Benjamin. Sometime later, we were down eating, and I was cleaning Persephone up before we headed upstairs with Persephone and Benjamin. Cole and Sam showed up before I headed into the bathroom.

"I'll give her a bath and get dressed for bed," Cole told me.

"What about Benjamin?" I questioned.

"We'll do the same thing," Cole said as he and Sam took Persephone and Benjamin.

I kissed both my babies goodbye and headed into my room. I got undressed and redressed into my training outfit. I grabbed my coat and put it on before heading back downstairs, where Buffy was waiting.

"Ready to go?" Buffy asked.

I nodded before we headed out the door.

Across town at an abandoned boarding house, a few wall lamps were lit while a fire was going on in the fireplace. It was clear that no one had lived here for years. The furniture was torn, and the books on the shelves were strewn about, while a man was bricking shut one of the windows as

Quentin Travers, the head of the Watcher's Council, observed the progress

"How much longer, Hobson?" Quentin asked as he turned while another man came down the stairs.

"Five, maybe six hours, sir," Hobson answered as they slowly walked into the next room.

"Once you finish, you and Blair can get some rest. But sleep in shifts," Quentin ordered as he and Hobson stopped and looked across the room at two tall wooden crates with heavy locks on them.

"We're getting very close. The Slayers' preparations are nearly complete," Quentin announced before he left the room.

Switch Point of view...

After we left home, we headed to the library to meet with Giles and the other watcher. When we got to the library, we took off our coats and sat in the chairs as Giles and the watcher laid out the crystals on the table while we watched.

"You know, it's not just cartoon characters. They do pieces from operas and ballets. Brian Boitano, doing Carmen, is a life changer. Oh, he doesn't actually play Carmen, but a lot of sophisticated people go," Buffy said as she talked about the ice skating show.

"Yes, I think we should start with the grounding crystal again," Giles absently voiced.

They set two large blue crystals in front of us.

"You know, it's usually something families do together," Buffy responded as I stared at one of the blue crystals.

"Now, look very carefully for the tiny flaw at it's core," the other watcher told us.

I continued staring at the crystal while Buffy continued talking.

"I-if someone was free, they'd take their daughters or their students... or their slayer," I heard Buffy say as I slowly started to zone out.

"Hmm? Yes, but, Buffy, I think we should concentrate now. Now, look for the flaw at its center," I heard Giles say before I went into a trance.

I could muffled talking while I was zoned out. What felt like hours was only a few minutes as I saw a hand being waved in front of me and the crystal.

"Aurora?" the other watcher said as I broke out of a trance.

"Oh, sorry," I replied as I rubbed my temples. "Did we zone out on you? It's just... I must be tired from pre-med classes."

"It's best to get some sleep. Perhaps, we should, um..." Giles started to say.

"... call it a night. Yeah," Buffy interrupted while exhaling. "That's a good idea. Thanks."

"Good night, Giles," I said as we weakly got up, groaned while putting on our coats and headed out of the library to my car before heading home.

When we got home, Buffy and I showered before separating and heading into the room. After I showered and brushed my teeth, I walked into my room to see Cole and Sam watching a movie while Sam fed Benjamin a bottle.

"Hey," I whispered before grabbing my pjs, walking behind my dressing screen and getting dressed into my pjs.

"How was training?" Cole asked as I grabbed my school books and laptop before finishing up my homework and submitting it to my professors.

"Weird," I answered.

"In what way?" Sam questioned.

"I fell into a trance for a while," I answered. "And I'm tired and not feeling well, but not in a sick way."

"Well, let us get Benjamin to bed and we'll join you in a moment," Cole voiced.

I climbed into bed as Cole and Sam took Benjamin to the side nursery. I checked the nursery cam for Persephone and saw that she was fine, with Lady keeping watch over her. Moments later, Cole and Sam joined me in bed, and we all drifted off to sleep.

Time Skip

It was morning as I felt Persephone's small hand on my face while I woke up to see her.

"Morning, Steph," I said.

"Mama," Persephone voiced as she slid off the bed onto the floor before I got up from the bed.

"Ready for food?" I asked.

"Uh-huh," Persephone answered as she nodded.

"We'll take Persephone down while you get dressed," Sam told me as he and Cole came into the room with Benjamin.

Sam picked up Persephone before they left the room. I walked over to my weekly outfit planner, selected today’s outfit, and laid it out on my bed. After that, I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth, then returned to get dressed.

"Breakfast is ready," Kate said as she came into the room with Wyatt.

"Coming," I told her as I grabbed my book bag and headed out of the room with her.

When we got downstairs, Persephone was eating her breakfast and drinking a smoothie.

"Morning, all," I voiced.

"Morning, Rory," Kyra said as she looked up from feeding Andrea.

I sat down next to Sam as he fed Benjamin, while Dean handed me a couple of pre-made egg muffins and a strawberry-banana yogurt smoothie. Buffy soon joined us with Jeremy and Jenna, and we started our breakfast while discussing our birthday celebration.

"Time for school," Jenna announced as the time became near.

We packed up as the boys cleaned Persephone and the babies up before we headed out the door.

After we left home, we headed to the daycare and met up with Bekah, Jo and Astrid. We checked Persephone and the babies into their rooms before heading off to school. When we got to school, we met up with Willow.

"So, how's it going with Amy the rat?" I asked.

"Good! She loves her new exercise wheel. She runs around, her nose wiggles..." Willow said with excitement.

"How's it going, changing her back into a human being?" Buffy interrupted.

"Oh, still working on it. But I just got her cutest little bell," Willow started to say before we noticed Cordelia and a boy having an argument.

"You don't do that to me! I waited for you at the Bronze all night!" A boy exclaimed with an upset tone.

"And the big deal is?" Cordelia questioned.

"You made me look like some kind of dork in front of my posse!" The Boy voiced as he grabbed her arm before slapping his arm away from her.

"First of all, 'posse'? Passe'! Second of all, anyone with a teaspoon of brains knows not to take my flirting seriously. Especially with my extenuating circumstances," Cordelia replied.

"What circumstances?" The boy questioned with confusion.

"Rebound! Look it up!" Cordelia exclaimed as she tried to leave, but only for him to grab her by the shoulder and shove her against a tree.

"Hey! I'm not through here," The Boy snapped.

"Oh, we beg to differ," Buffy voiced as we moved in and grabbed the boy's arms.

We tried to yank and found no strength before he scoffed and nudged us hardly away. Buffy fell to the ground as I was caught by Cole and Sam.

"What is wrong with you?" Cordelia reacted as she shoved him away from her.

"Ow," The boy voiced as Cordelia started pounding on him while he quickly backed away. "God, the chick started it!"

Willow and Jo helped Buffy up.

"Are you okay?" Kate asked us with concern.

Buffy slowly stood up, and with confusion at what had just happened to us.

After what happened, we headed to find Giles and found him and Jenny heading towards the library with a stack of magazines.

"Okay, we just got swatted down by some no-neck and rescued by Cordelia," Buffy said as we caught up to him.

"What the hell is happening?" I asked him.

"I'm sure it'll sort itself out," Giles responded.

"You're not getting the bigger picture here. Th-they have no strength. They have no coordination. They throw knives like..." Kate announced.

"A girl?" Giles calmly interrupted.

"Like we're not the slayers," I answered with confusion to his reaction.

"Look, girls, I, I, I assure you, um... given time... w-w-we'll get to the bottom of, of whatever's causing this, um... anomaly," Giles stuttered.

"Promise us," Kyra told him.

"Yes. I give you my word," Giles responded before heading back down the hall to the library.

"Well, you have classes and we have classes at the university. We'll see you later," I voiced.

Kate, Kyra, Cole, and I left the school to head to the university for our classes, while I wondered what Giles was not telling us, as I could sense something blocking my premonitions.

Switch Point of View...

Across town at the abandoned boarding house, Giles was meeting with the head of the council and was talking over tea.

"You're having doubts," Quentin said as he sipped his tea. "Cruciamentum is not easy... for Slayers or watchers. But it's been done this way for a dozen Centuries. Whenever a Slayer turned eighteen. Since your first slayer, Ms. Sommers-Gilbert, couldn't do it last year. It must be done this year with your second. It's a time-honoured rite of passage."

"It's an archaic exercise in cruelty. To lock them in this... tomb... weakened, defenceless." Giles replied as he looked at the crates behind him. "And to unleash that on them." He stared at the crates in the other room for a long moment before turning back to Quentin. "If any one of the Council still had contact with a slayer, they would see, but I'm the one in the thick of it."

"Which is why you're not qualified to make this decision. You're too close," Quentin told him.

"That's not true," Giles responded.

"A Slayer is not just physical prowess. She must have cunning imagination, a confidence derived from self-reliance. And believe me, once this is all over, your Buffy and Aurora will be stronger for it," Quentin stated.

"Or they'll be dead for it," Giles muttered.

Sometime later, Giles and Quentin were walking through the main house of the abandoned boarding house as Hobson stopped working on the front door.

"Rupert, if these girls are everything you say, then you've got nothing to worry about," Quentin voiced.

Giles wasn't sure about what Quentin said as he placed his glasses on and left without a word while Hobson and Quentin talked to each other.

"Uh, sir, if you could spare me for a short spell, I'll need to make a run to the hardware store. I just need some..." Hobson started to say before being interrupted by the screaming that was coming from the crates as Blaire went into the other room.

"Take care of it," Quentin stated as the two men reluctantly went to the crates while Quentin followed them.

They unlocked the crates to expose the two vampires secured in straightjackets while being strapped to the back of the crate with metal bands across their foreheads.

"Come on. Come on," Quentin impatiently said as the two men nervously looked at the vampires.

"Kralik, Stephano, your pills. Open your mouths," Blair voiced as both Blair and Hobson gave the vampires pills and water before retreating.

"That's enough. Close them up," Quentin ordered as they slammed the crates shut and locked them.

A Short time skip later...

After classes at both the university and high school, we focused on researching what was happening with Buffy and me. Meanwhile, Persephone, Andrea, Benjamin, and Wyatt were at the Manor with Angel, Andy, Dean, Cole, and Leo, and Astrid was at the Mikaelson's house with Jeremy, Jo, and Bekah, working on their own research.

"Aha! A curse on Slayers," Willow exclaimed as we looked up. "Oh, no. Wait. I-it's lawyers."

"You know, maybe we're on the wrong track with the whole spell, curse, and whammy thing. Maybe what we should be looking for is something like, um," Xander said before coughing. "Slayer kryptonite."

"Faulty metaphor. Kryptonite kills," Oz replied.

"You're assuming I meant the green kryptonite. I was referring, of course, to the red kryptonite, which drains Superman of his powers," Xander responded.

"Wrong. The Gold kryptoonite's the power-sucker. The red kryptonite mutates Superman into some sort of weird..." Oz corrected him.

"Guys? Reality?" Buffy impatiently interrupted as I dropped my book onto the table and walked towards the stairs with Buffy and Willow behind me.

"Aurora, Buffy," Willow said as we stopped. "I know you are definitely, without a doubt, gonna get your powers back."

"Thanks, Will," I replied as we started up to the stacks.

"But what if you don't?" Kate asked as she joined us.

"Okay..." I sighed before continuing. "If we don't get our slayer powers back, then we don't. We'll figure it out."

"And there's a whole lotta good sides to it," Buffy stated.

"Actually, this could open up so many," Willow voiced as we noticed Giles coming into the library.

"Giles. Did you find anything?" I asked as we ran up to him.

"Uh, no. Not yet," Giles apologetically lied.

We went back to researching before we had to leave to get changed.

Back across town at the boarding house, Hobson came in with an unknown watcher as they sat down on their cots before Kralik & Stephano began to thrash and scream in their crates. Blair and another unknown watcher woke and bolted up before realizing they had not escaped.

"It's your shift," Hobson told them as Blair and the second unknown watcher got up and took care of their charges.

As they pulled the door to their room closed behind them, Hobson and the first unknown watcher lay and went to sleep.

In the other room, Blair and the other watcher pulled open the crates as Kralik and Stephano yelled.

"Pills!" Kralik and Stephano yelled.

"Yes," Blair and the unknown watcher nervously muttered.

They looked at the pill bottles and saw there was no water in the glasses, and walked into the kitchen. While in the room, Kralik and Stephano strained against their straightjackets, while screaming very loudly as the seam on their right shoulders began to tear.

Back in the kitchen, Blair and the other watcher filled the glasses while glancing over their shoulders with worry.

"It's coming!" Blair and the other watcher yelled over their screaming.

"Pills!" Kralik and Stephano screamed as Blair and the other watcher turned off the water before rushing over to the crates.

Back in the room, Kralik and Stephano lifted their shoulders to keep them from seeing the tears in the straightjackets.

"Pills," Kralik & Stephano screamed again.

They set down the water and grabbed two pills each from the bottle before putting them on the large spoon and holding it up to their mouths while the vampires continued to groan loudly.

"Take them," Blair and the watcher ordered.

"Pills!" Kralik and Stephano told them.

"They're right in front of you," the other watcher responded.

"Where?" Stephano asked as they sniffed.

"Here!" Blair responded.

"I can't see... can't..." Kralik said as they stuck out their tongues. "Can't reach it."

"Open your eyes," Blair stated as he and the other watcher stepped closer to him.

Kralik and Stephano thrusted their arms out and grabbed Blair and the watcher by the neck, lifting them from the floor and choking them.

"Shh. Everything's okay now," Kralik and Stephano said.
