Chapter Text
In the heart of a little town about two hours away from L’Manburg was a nice, light blue house with a small front yard and a balcony on the second floor. The house was in a nice neighborhood, and the house was frequently visited by kids that wanted to pet the large golden dog that ran around outside fairly often.
Today, however, the visitor was not a kid, but a strong young man with long pink hair. The doorbell was rung, and the front door opened to see a rather short man. Short would actually be putting it kindly. He barely would have reached an average person’s knees.
However, he was stuck to the door with the almost gecko-like stickiness of his hands. This brought him up to be close to eye level with the pink haired man
“Hello?” the short man asked with a skeptical quirk of his brow, “Who are you?” He had one hand stuck to the door frame, and another to the door itself, ready to shut it at a moment’s notice.
“Hullo, my name is Technoblade King-Cawford,” the pink haired man responded kindly. “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions, Sneeg Snag?”
Sneeg, who’d been just about ready to shut the door in yet another telemarketer’s face, paused at that. “How do you know my fuckin’ name?”
Techno smiled a little. “Me and my family have spent a long time trying to find others like us. We’re rather happy to finally have found you all. Your name was one of the few we found.”
Sneeg slowly reached behind him into a pouch full to the brim with sugar. “What do you mean, ‘others like us?’”
“Have you ever met someone named Mellohi?”
Sneeg blanched. He eyed Techno suspiciously. His hand clasped around some sugar, ready to eat it and bolt. “Who’s askin’?”
Techno’s eyes turned warm. He seemed so… proud of himself. And a little relieved, like years of work was paying off. “Aimatheos. It’s good to meet you, Neptune.”
Sneeg stiffen, and angrily snapped. “Don’t fuckin’ call me that. I’m not Neptune.”
Not anymore.
“And I’m not Aimatheos, but we’re here anyways,” Techno mused. He wasn’t looking Sneeg in the eyes. His eyes were darting back and forth, to and fro about the lawn and the little pieces of house behind Sneeg.
Sneeg very deliberately did not close the door, but he did lessen the crack size that Techno could see inside of. “What do you want?”
Techno’s eyes lit up. “To talk. See, my family and I are like you. People like Kopaki and Azul. One of us never got to be a hero, and another was retired for other reasons. Mellohi’s working with us to help find people.” Techno wrung his hands behind his back in an attempt to calm his nerves. He wished there had been enough of them to have two people to a hero, but they ended up finding a lot of names.
“Why do you want to find us? Why talk?”
Techno met Sneeg’s eyes for the first time, and it took Sneeg aback for a minute.
“We all woke up alone. I don’t think it should stay that way,” Technoblade said with such conviction that Sneeg almost lost his grip on his door frame.
Wordlessly, he pushed his door wide, and Techno stepped inside. The door was shut, and Sneeg readied for a long conversation.
By the time they were done talking, Sneeg hadn’t seen Techno drop the smile from his face for even a moment.
