---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something blares in your ears as you jolt awake. Groggily opening your eyes, you feel around your bed tiredly until it lands on your phone. Squinting through the brightness you look to see your alarm. You were about to hit snooze until you actually read the alarm… It’s the third one that you had set just for this morning. Blinking in confusion before the realization and dread dawned on you. You throw your blankets off of your body, frantically stumbling out of bed as you quickly pull on your uniform that you had only just been given the day before. It’s sizing just a little bit too big for your body type, but you would rather that than it be too small.
The uniform was black slacks with a baby blue button up with Freddy’s face embroidered on its front pocket. A simple uniform, surprising for how bright and colourful the actual pizza plex was, but you almost liked it better that way, it was just a little bit less embarrassing for you. Reaching into your cabinets blindly for something to eat, you pull out a twinkie that was just slightly past its due date. But did that really matter? Couldn’t these things survive the apocalypse? Whatever, it was already in your mouth and it didn’t taste wrong so who cared.
You practically booked it out of your apartment, nearly tripping down the stairs in the process. Just barely making it to the bus stop, you wave down the just leaving bus to stop and clamber on. Heaving a sigh of relief you slump down into a seat and look at your phone, swiping through it until you open up your email. Checking what had been sent to you the day before, a list detailing all of the things you would be doing on your first real day of work. It was mostly just cleaning, making sure everything stayed fully in stock and that nothing broke down. It was unlikely that things could have broken down that fast, the pizza plex had only just reopened after all, but what did you know.
Looking out the window you watched as shapes and colours rushed past, you couldn’t help your thoughts drifting off at a certain point. This wasn’t your first ever job, but it was the first time you would be working at such a large corporation, you mostly worked at mom and pop shops, and some random gas station, but the pay at the Pizzaplex was too good to give up, and without needing any secondary education nonetheless! Thirty dollars an hour was nothing to scoff at. Though there were alot of waivers you had to sign, you did not read them all that thoroughly, going cross eyed at trying to even begin reading the multiple page booklet. You just signed them and called it a day. After all, it was just like a glorified mall, how dangerous could it really be?
You were pulled out of your thoughts at the bus stopping suddenly causing you to nearly tumbled out of your seat and onto some poor unsuspecting bystander. You gave an apologetic smile as you stood, gathering your stuff quickly, and exited the bus. The bus stop was just outside the Pizzaplex’s parking lot and it was very nearly jammed full of cars. Children whooping and screaming as they ran through the busy lot much to their parents dismay. It made you chuckle, you could think back to a time where you were just as excited as they were for a day out.
Eventually you made it through the parking lot, luckily without being hit, and entered the actual building. Looking around you took in the sights, this was your first time being in here when it was actually open. The only time before had been during your orientation and that was a couple days before the grand reopening. You were so distracted with your sight seeing that you nearly ran over a S.T.A.F.F. bot!
“Oh! Shi–” You started, hopping back a few steps to give the poor bot space as it swiveled to turn towards you, saying nothing but giving you a wave before it rolled off to whatever its predetermined destination was before you had so rudely interrupted it, “... Okay?” You were a little unnerved by the robot but you guess you would have to get used to it if you were going to keep working here. You’re pretty sure that you were one of the very few human staff in this building, so the S.T.A.F.F. bots were probably going to be your only co-worker friends.
Sighing you went off towards the break room, ready to clock in. You noted that it was rather bland, sure it was brightly coloured and had cheerful posters, but it was the energy of it that felt dull. The chairs were a hard plastic and the lockers had barely anything in them, indicating yes, there were not many human crew. Tossing your own bag into a locker you made sure to pull your new lanyard over your head, twisting it right so the staff identification could actually be seen. You made sure to remember to bling this thing out with some pins later.
After finally clocking in you would head out of the break room and pull along a cart, making your first round around the pizza plex for any signs of garbage, noting that even within the first few hours, there was already… a lot. Oh boy. This was going to be a long day wasn’t it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were practically a zombie on your feet near the end of your shift, but you still had one more place left to clean, and honestly? You dreaded it the most, having put it off this entire time. The Daycare. Of course it was going to be a mess, that's what kids did. So gathering up all your strength, you brought your cart through the daycare doors. The lobby was very spacious and the large wooden doors almost felt imposing. Though, you felt a little silly at that feeling, this is where children were dropped off and they didn't get that feeling did they? Now come on.
Pushing open the doors you found the room to be… surprisingly clean. That was a shock to you. You were sure that the children would have ruined this place, yet here you stood, in a nearly spotless daycare. Stepping further inside you looked around, the giant jungle gyms spreading across the entire room, a ball pit with every ball perfectly within its bounds, tables for arts and crafts, plushies and soft pillows for sleeping. Really the only mess you could find was the scattered papers that were on one of the tables. Taking a closer look you could see that they were rather crude drawings of a large figure with a sun for a head being surrounded by children, all of them with big large smiley faces. Cute. Childrens drawings always had that special sort of charm to them. Sliding the paper to the side you would next see a… less fun drawing. A moon-like… creature? Hanging just above a group of stickmans laying down on the ground. It was a little bit more creepy, with the harsh black scribbles indicating darkness. What child drew this demon?
Just as you were about to pick it up to get a closer look though you would hear a sudden crashing in the ball pit. Immediately you were put on edge, there should be no one here, it was closed, wasn't it? Cautiously stepping towards the ball pit, slightly leaning back and holding your arms up to protect yourself. You mentally scolded yourself, it was probably some child who decided that they could just run back in here after hours, there was no need for this anxiety.
As you closed in on the ballpit, you stopped at its edge and slowly leaned over its lip. There was nothing for a good long moment before–
“Heeeellllooooo new friend!”
You screamed.
Some yellow… thing! Just popped out from the ballpit, sending you stumbling backwards flat on your ass. You covered your face for just a second before looking back up and realizing just how stupid you are. Towering above you stood the mascot of the daycare, tall, bright and yellow, bells and bows adorning his puffy, ruffled outfit. His never changing expression still held so much concern as he crouched down to meet you, sun spikes hiding a little bit in his head out of embarrassment.
“Oh dear friend! I did not mean to scare you! Are you hurt? Do you need a band-aid?!” The overbearing animatronic would scoop his hands under your armpits to pull you up to your feet and you pushed away to dust yourself off.
“Yeah– yeah, I’m fine. Do you always do that?” You asked, much to the confusion of the daycare attendant.
“Do what?”
“Jump out and scare the shit out of pe-”
“New friend! Naughty words are not allowed in the daycare! You do not want to go into time out do you?”
“Huh? No, I don’t need a time out, I'm a grown adult??” The yellow animatronic would mimic a deep sigh and rub the back of their head.
“Okay okay, I think we started off on the wrong foot! My name is Sun! What’s yours?”
You eyed Sun for a good long moment before telling him your own name, somehow causing his smile to grow more.
“Ohhh!! That's pretty! Or handsome. Whatever you prefer!” You rolled your eyes, ”Well new friend, are we having a slumber party? You know that the daycare is now closed after all!” He would bounce from one foot to the next, clapping his hands together, “I have so many fun games we could play! Or we could do arts and crafts! I have glitter glue, glitter pens, glitter stickers–”
“Ah- No, that's okay, I'm just here to clean, I work here, see?” You hold up your lanyard for Sun to see and he leans forward to inspect it more closely.
“Ohhhhh! I see! Well friend, I’ve got it completely under control as you can see! I always make sure to clean up after the little ones! If there's any sort of mess, someone could trip and fall and get hurt!”
“Uh huh.” You look the animatronic up and down before looking around the daycare to take it in again, “So you wouldn't mind if I were to just chill here for the rest of my shift? Since you don’t really need my help at all.”
“Oh not at all, new friend! I have so many ‘chilling’ spots! There’s a blanket fort just over yonder where all the little ones take their naps if you’d like somewhere comfy, ohh! Or we have trampoline mats! And there's always the ball pit!! There's just so many good options to choose from–” You sit down where you were, leaning against one of the play structures with a huff, “Or right there works!!” He would plop down right beside you as well, still towering over you despite being closer to your level. Christ, who designs an animatronic meant to take care of children to be this big? Whatever, you're not some robo designing genius.
You would spend at least twenty minutes sitting there, making idle chit chat with sun, with him making up most of the conversation. Asking your favorite animal ,favorite colour, favorite food– He asked a lot of your favorite things now that you think about it. But eventually you noticed the other bot to get seemingly more anxious and jittery, you were about to ask what was wrong with him before he suddenly sprung up.
“Well new friend! It was fun hanging out with you, but I really must get back to cleaning! You should be going now! The Pizza Plex is almost closed y'know!” He would pull you up onto your feet and pat your head before marching you towards the door. You gave a few short noises of confusion before finally finding your words.
“What huh? Shouldn’t I be helping you with cleaning??” You asked, trying to dig your heels into the ground, but its soft plush texture did nothing to help your situation.
“No no it's all good, friend! Your best friend, Sun, has it all covered! Don't worry a pretty hair on your head! Wouldn’t want to over work you on your first day would we!”
“But–”
“See you tomorrow friend!” And that was that. The large wooden doors would close and a lock could be heard from the otherside, leaving you with more questions than answers. This animatronic was very… strange to say the least. He was not bad but he wasn't exactly the best company you would say. But then again, he's the only company you really have met thus far. Deciding to shrug it off, you turned around to leave, your shift being over in just a few minutes and you were hoping to get an employee discount off of some food before it ended.
Making it to the front of the line just in time to punch in your code before your shift ended to get that sweet sweet discount on some greasy but guiltily satisfying pizza. Taking the meal to a table you would sit down and start eating, making sure to wipe your hands on your pants before touching your phone so as to not get it all gross and sticky, watching videos to pass the time as you ate. Eventually you would look up again and catch a glimpse of the daycare, though this time the lights had gone off and you thought nothing of it, simply finishing your food before tossing your junk into the nearest garbage receptacle.
Checking your phone for the time you would pick up the pace for the door, hoping to make the bus before it left, not wanting to wait for the next one in the cold night.

Chapter Text
Sun watched as their new friend left through the glass walls of the daycare, having quickly locked it behind them. He heaved a metaphorical sigh of relief. His eyes were quick to settle on what had been left on the table. He couldn’t help but feel his chest tighten with pride, lifting the drawings as he inspected them before hugging them close.
He signaled for the hook to come down from the ceiling and he carefully hooked it on, stumbling for just a moment as his feet lifted off of the ground. Flying around in the sky wasn’t really his thing. He wasn’t very good at it, and they didn’t want any of the kids to grab onto him and accidentally send them up into the air with him! That would be no good at all! But he needed the help getting back onto the balcony that he called their home.
Once he finally set foot onto stable ground he unhooked himself and skipped into the room it hid. Pushing back the curtains, the room was a mess, it always was a mess. It might be the only place that wasn’t perfectly spotless! It was more of an organized mess, everything may be on the floor, but it's in its place on the floor! The room was bright and there was a large pillow pile in the middle of the room, fun coloured plastic cabinets lined the walls and toys littered the space.
He carefully stepped over some plushies that were on the floor to reach a wall that was filled top to bottom with old drawings. Finding a spot he deemed clear enough, he would pin the new drawings up onto the wall. The first drawings he had gathered since the new opening. It was enough to make a grown animatronic cry!
He had been staring at the drawings for so long that he would get startled by the announcement crackling through the speakers outside,
“We hope you have had a Faz-Tastic day, but the Pizza Plex is now closing. Please make sure you have all of your belongings and head towards the front doors. See you tomorrow for another fun-filled day.”
Oh my! That means the lights will be shutting off soon! Shaking themself out of their daze they would quickly pull one of the plastic drawers to pull out a set of crayons and a sticky note. Once he had grabbed what he needed, he would fall backwards onto the pillow nest he had crafted with a soft thud. Situating themself right they would poise their crayon over the sticky note and begin to write.
Hi Moony!! ✩
Its starting to get late so I just want to remind you!!!
Plz plz plz PLZZZ!!!!!! Be careful tonight!!! It was the big day 2day!! Try not to damage urself, we gotta make good impressions!!
Luv Sun ☼
And…. Splat! He pushed the sticky note right onto the middle of their face plate. It obstructed a good portion of their vision and it would be impossible to miss or ignore! He decided this would be good enough and decided to wait until the lights went out.
For all of 2 minutes.
He was very quick to get fidgety and would grab out construction paper and with the crayons he would draw out depictions of his day, one was him playing hide and seek with the children, another was him giving out candy, and lastly a drawing of him trying to put the children to bed for nap time in tents. Though there was one stick figure kid still standing up and a drawing of sun trying to tell the child to sleep.
He was just putting on the finishing touches until his world went black, the very familiar feeling of agony would spike through their system, feeling their body stiffen up and vision blur, unable to stop himself from clawing at their quickly retracting spikes of sun. He fell over onto the pillows as his world suddenly ended and he began floating through the emptiness that was their shared mind. Feeling as if they were a bird with a blanket thrown over its cage, or if he was in a sensory deprivation chamber. It always felt strange and foreign.
No matter how many times he would attempt to call out into the darkness, to reach out to Moon, it felt like a wall divided them and all he could do was kick and scream, sometimes they thought if he could just scream loud enough he could hear… but it never worked out, Moon always just too far away.
The animatronic slowly opened one red eye, and then the other. Warning and error modules filled their screen, insisting that there was something very wrong and it needed to be dealt with. They tried to delete them for their hud, one obstruction still stayed within their vision but they realized it was not part of their hud. Reaching up with one hand to pluck the note off of their face, flipping it over to read it. Their vision swarming with static and warbling as if they were a phone dropped down a toilet. Thankfully, it was just clear enough to make out the words.
Flicking it out of their hand and letting it drift to the floor they stood up. They had other things they needed to do right now. If it was really the first day he had to make sure that no one was being… naughty. Pushing past the curtains they assuredly stepped off the balcony, catching them in the moments after, hoisting them up to the ceiling and into the rafters where they scurried off in the cloak of the darkness.
Pulling themself through and around all of the piping of the Pizza Plex they would find themself within the main hallway, watching as families with their children left through the doors. More error messages appeared on their hud, circling children and pointing out to them just how much he needed to punish them. It was much too past their bedtimes. He could feel himself reaching down, ready to swing down and grab but he pulled himself back, growling deeply as they clench their fist and pulled themself further into the Pizza Plex.
Crawling through the cafeteria he would look down to spot one particular adult wearing a staff uniform and they quickly searched through their database and matched it as being you. His sensors immediately went off at the sign of a human staff. Danger, error, error, warning, danger. He grabbed his head and would take a detour from his usual pathing to follow you from the ceiling, watching you with such intensity it's a surprise he didn't bore holes into the back of your head. Once you finally left the building he was able to continue as normal.
An hour later, the automatic lights flickered off and Moon was free to drop from the ceiling. Ending up in one of the offshoot hallways next to the Glamrocks green rooms, slipping through the darkness to find himself eavesdropping in the middle of one of their conversations. He did not care. He never really got along with any of them, and they never bothered to talk to him, it was honestly a win in his books.
He watched as Roxy leaned up against the wall chatting with Chica as she excitedly gestured with her hands as she spoke. Freddy stood off to the side but still close enough to be in the conversation, and Monty standing with his arms folded as if uninterested. He could catch bits and pieces of the four of them talking about their first days back on stage, what they could do better at, what they had done great at. Whatever. It was none of his business, and he turned away to continue his patrol.
More error messages flickered across their vision as they left again, getting frustrated he tried to wave away the notifications, watching as their line of sight warbled and glitched. Something was very wrong with them. They knew this, but it's been so long since they didn't have to deal with this so it was practically normal to them now. Though the silence in their head never ceased to unnerve them. The sound of their bells jingling with every step they took being their only companion on their patrol. Nothing really caught their eye so they decided that it was enough for tonight. Stringing themselves back up to the wire, he pulled himself back up into the ceiling, clutching onto one of the pipes and dragging themself along it all the way back to the daycare.
Overlooking the structures below them, they began trying to think back to a time before the reopening, before they were taken off of daycare duty, but just couldn't pull anything from their memory banks. It frustrated them but they shrugged it off. Instead slowly descending until their feet touched the soft plush ground. Tugging the wire off of their hook and letting it rise back into the ceiling, they would squat down into a hunched over position as they made their way over to a large grouping of plushies, holding up a Sun plush and turning it over in their hands in contemplation. Tilting their head up to look through the glass they would note that any sort of advertisement or indication that the night time daycare even existed had since been removed.
It was only Sun.
Dropping the plush back onto the ground wordlessly, they unlocked the large wooden doors and pushed their way through. They would scan the walls for any sign of posters of themself but saw the same thing they saw within the daycare. It was just, Sun. This made their faceplate twist in their own form of grimace. They had tried scrubbing him from everything short of dismantling him completely. This made their vision become increasingly filled with static, warbling and shaking as they hit the side of their face plate to try to clear it up.
It didn’t matter to him.
It had been hours at this point. They did just patrol the entire facility earlier and it would be opening again soon. It would be a good idea to set himself back to where he started as to not disorientate the daycare attendant. Pushing back through the large doors he would make his way below the balcony and floated up using the same method they had every other time. Placing himself delicately atop the cushioned flooring and pushed aside the curtains to let themself inside. Stepping over the large mass of bedding, they nearly jumped when they stepped on something and it crinkled.
Picking up what he had accidentally tramped he quickly recognized it as Sun’s artwork. The errors that obstructed their vision did not help in their attempts of inspecting the papers, but they could see the gist of it. Sun with kids, Sun helping kids, Sun having fun with kids– It was rather redundant to draw the same thing over and over again he thought. But seeing the one of himself made him blink a few times, sure it didn’t shock them, but it made them stop for a brief moment. Though, realizing something is missing from the drawing.
Placing it down onto a table, he picked up one of the long since abandoned crayons and went over the work Sun had done. Awkwardly drawing the shape of his soft hat atop the depiction of himself before placing the crayon down a satisfied hum. He didn’t admire the drawings for too long as he had to make sure to clean up the small mess Sun had left for him. Tidying the construction paper, putting the crayons back into their respective drawers, and fluffing and replacing the pillow mass back onto the soft bed that took up the middle of the room. They did not need to sleep, but it was nice to have a place to rest.
Finally deeming the room clean enough, it was still rather messy, but it was their mess and they liked it this way, they would sit back down on the plush floor of their room that they found themselves woken up at. Simply waiting out the time with much more patience than Sun had. And soon enough, the lights would flicker on once more, pulling Moon suddenly and forcefully out of the front and thrusting them back into the depths of their mind, consciousness being ripped out of Moon's reach. A hot searing pain soared through their wiring as the switch took place, causing Moon to curl inwards on themself to try and soothe some of that pain but it never helped.
Soon enough, just like it always did, everything faded away into a nothingness black, and they were able to rest and allow Sun to take over once more.
Chapter 3: Trapped Like a Rat in a Cage
Summary:
It's your second day working for the newly reopened Pizzaplex, what could go wrong?
Chapter Text
You wake up groggily, eyes open but body unmoving. You were sore, really sore. That was the most walking that you probably have ever had to do in one day. You’re thankful that you got to sleep in today, but a little annoyed at your second shift being so late. You were to be there from eleven to seven, that was just before it closed and just after it opened. You’re not even sure what there could even be to do for that long.
Reaching for your phone and squinting against its brightness, you pulled up your email to see what you have been detailed to do today. More cleaning and more maintenance it seemed like. One of the tasks that stood out to you the most was that one of the charging stations used for the Glamrocks was broken and you were tasked to fix it. You frowned a little bit, you were no mechanic, sure you had a little bit of knowledge under your belt, that's how you got this job, but at most you could troubleshoot your grandmother's computer because she accidentally installed a virus trying to buy something off of facebook. But oh well, how hard could it really be?
It was just the afternoon so luckily you had some time to kill, deciding to turn on your phone and look at whatever articles google wanted to give you today. Reading about random politics you didn't care about, the latest games that just came out and why you needed to play them, and you skipped past the ones about crime, you weren't up to souring your mood. Though one article caught your attention as it was about the Pizzaplex’s grand opening. Tapping the link you would skim over the passages celebrating and basically sucking the dick of Fazbear Ent. It was a little funny that it just kept going on and on about the greatness of the Pizzaplex when it just previously had to shut down due to horrible health concerns.
Despite it being mostly filled with enthusiastic parents, it turns out, a lot of other people in the comment section felt the same way as you, criticizing the biased view of the article, some even alluding to the reasons it shut down in the first place. Though you weren't really in the business of caring for the Pizzaplex, you only heard from word of mouth about the place and why it shut down. Some said that the animatronics were dangerous, kids went missing, the place generally just smelled. Hopefully, all things that were either untrue or had been fixed. Though one comment caught your eye.
“Did they finally get rid of that other daycare attendant? Good riddance, that thing gave my nephew nightmares for months!”
Other daycare attendant? There was a second one before? You only just learnt that the one daycare attendant was an animatronic and not a human! Sun didn’t seem all that frightening, maybe a little… weird, but not scary. Maybe you would feel different if you had seen them before the reopening. Now curious, you would swipe out of the article and pull up the search bar.
“Freddy Fazbear daycare old one?”
Not a proper sentence but google takes it nonetheless. The most you can find by scrolling through are comparison images from the company itself of the old sun design to the new one. Okay, the first one you could see as being a little bit creepy. Soulless eyes and stiff smile, it also looked all dented and scuffed up but you mused that it was probably just from its overuse. The new design had a much softer smile, larger eyes, still no pupils which you thought was a strange design choice for children but whatever, and a lot more fabric covering the hard metal shell. But no matter where you looked you simply could just not find out about a second daycare attendant, all you could find were long since deleted forums. Did the commenter mean a human worker? But then why would they refer to them as a ‘thing’?
It made no sense whatsoever and you decided not to hurt yourself trying to think too hard on it. All this time you had been laying in bed, mindlessly scrolling, finally coming out of your haze as you finished your investigation you noticed the time and quickly threw the covers off of your body. You had about two hours before you had to be there for work and you really should get something to eat. Before you arrive, though, that discounted food really doesn't sound so bad right now.
Getting changed into your work clothes that you hadn't gotten the chance to throw through the wash yet, there being a little stain on the breast of your shirt from stray pizza sauce. Nothing a wet washcloth couldn't fix. Inspecting yourself in the mirror you would decide it was good enough and set off outside, taking the same route you had the day before and arriving an hour early.
It thankfully wasn't terribly busy, closing being soon after all, so you could easily slip into the cafeteria and grab yourself some food. Sitting down on one of the party themed benches you made extra care not to let any of it spill into your lap. Finishing those last bites you couldn't help but feel your stomach do a flip at the only thing you have eaten the past 24 hours being over priced greasy pizza and one expired Twinkie but decided to ignore it. It was too late to call in sick, and you’ve worked through worse things than some stomach ache.
Pushing yourself up and off of the bench you decided it was time to actually clock in and get to work. Entering the sad staff room once again, you punched in your worker ID number into the large screen and it would print you out a little piece of paper declaring your hours and when you could take your break, playing children cheering and sounds of confetti as you took it. It was a little over the top and it made you roll your eyes but it was something you guessed.
Pulling your lanyard over your head again and adjust it in a way to show off the pin you had originally on your backpack but decided to transfer it over to this one. You thought it was a nice addition and showed others a glimpse of who you were as a person, or at least you liked to think it did. Walking out of the crew room you made a detour to the supply closet to pull out the janitor cart once more and begin your rounds of the Pizzaplex for garbage and mopping whatever foreign sticky substance you could find.
You decided it would be a good idea for one of the first places you would go to be the Daycare, as if you didn’t do it before the Pizzaplex closed for the night you were worried the anxious animatronic would kick you out again. Pulling the cart in through the large archway leading to the playplace, you pushed open the large wooden doors once more to find the place to be mostly clean, though there were still very obvious signs of child destruction that could only be fixed with a mop and bucket. You found this out the hard way as when you took a step inside you felt something squish underneath you. Cringing deeply you pulled your foot back to find a translucent glitter like substance.
“Oh hello new friend! Sorry for the mess! The kids had a long day of fun today!” The familiar voice of Sun boomed from across the play structure and rapidly approached as you tried to smear the glue off your foot and back onto the mat. Sun must have noticed your disgusted look as their eyes followed yours and back down to the mess that stained the floor, “Oh dear! I told them to be careful with the glitter glue! It can so easily get in every nook and cranny!”
Rolling your eyes you would hand the mop off to the tall animatronic who took it in their hands carefully, holding it awkwardly as it was much smaller than him, “How about you get that and I will deal with the rest of the garbage?” You told the sun themed animatronic as you walked off with the cart, not waiting for an answer but not needing one as he would stand up straighter and give you a firm salute as he began trying to scrub down the floor.
You both easily found a rhythm, you would pick up the mess of stuffed animals, craft paper scraps, and candy wrappers in one area, then Sun would come in and mop it down as you did the same in another area, it unintentionally felt like a game. Soon enough the entirety of the main part of the Daycare was finished. Sun took a spot beside you and looked around with pride.
“Well friend! We really showed that mess who’s boss! Putt'er there!!” Sun would lean down and offer a hand enthusiastically, with such excitement exuding from the animatronic, you couldn't help but put your entire force into that high five, though quickly regretting your decision as your hand stung like nothing else afterwards.
“FFFFFFFUU–”
“Friend! Language!” The sun animatronic scolded you as he would carefully take your injured hand and gave you an apologetic look as he would inspect it quickly for any damage, upon deciding you were fine he would let go, “And please be careful! You’re not as easy to fix as I would be!”
“Yeah yeah, I’m fine” You waved the concerned animatronic off and he would seemingly look you over before his face lit up.
“Oh! Just wait right here friend!” he would quickly skip off to the security desk, making extra care to lean over it and not go around behind it as he pulled open one of the drawers. Looking over his shoulder to make sure you were still there, before taking something out and sliding it back closed. Making his way back over to you, you could more easily see what he had brought you. It was a pin of the animatronic that held it, though much more cartoony and rounder. He would lean down and pin it onto your lanyard before taking a few hops backwards to inspect you fully.
“There you go! A gift for such a job well done, friend!” He cheered, clapping his hands happily as you lifted up the fabric to get a closer look at it. It was cute, you have to admit and you couldn't help the smile that formed on your face, “You’re such a big help friend and I wish we could hang out for longer–” here we go again, right on que, “--But it's getting late and you really should be going! I’m sure you have other places and things you have to be doing after all.” Feeling the animatronics hands on your shoulders again, he guided you and your cart out of the daycare once more.
“Yeah okay, See you tomorrow then, Sun”
“Goodbye friend!!!” The animatronic called back as he shut the doors once more, leaving you in silence, the people attending the Pizzaplex already long since left after it had closed. Your next job was to tidy up the Glamrocks greenrooms, though you were excused from doing Monty’s room, The email had detailed to you that it simply did not need your cleaning, you highly doubted that but did not question it as it was less work for you to do.
Pushing the cart towards the hallway you would firstly enter Freddy’s room. It was empty and actually already quite clean, but there was still a mess that you noted should still be tidied up. Picking up plushies and placing them gently onto the couch, rolling bowling balls neatly into one corner and swept the floor of debris. You then did the same thing for Chica’s room but there was a lot more garbage than you expected. You guessed it was probably from inviting children to hang with the Glamrocks and then just never picking up after themselves. Children could always be so inconsiderate.
It was only until you reached Roxy’s room did things get a little bit different.
“Freddy get out of my–!!” The wolf suddenly turned around from where she was sitting on her stool to snarl at you, causing you to nearly jump out of your own skin. Though thankfully for you she realized her mistake and calmed down, though still glaring at you through intense eyes, “Oh. Whatever, just make it quick.” The wolf concluded, not speaking another word as she continued gussying herself up in the mirror. You complied and did not try to make any further conversation with the wolf.
You almost felt a little starstruck, this was one of the main attractions of the Pizzaplex after all. Looking up to see her through the mirror as you cleaned up, you noted that you think even she got a bit of a redesign. Much larger eyes, hair more styled into something you would see in the eighties, wearing more of a leotard than a two piece outfit with much more noticeable shoulder pads and a metal skirt. It was cute you thought. Quickly looking away before she could catch you staring you finished up in her room and made your way out to leave, but not before a quick., “You look great, by the way”
She didn’t even spare you a glance but you could tell from the way her smirk seemed to grow a little bit, she appreciated the compliment. Leaving the room you pushed the cart past Monty’s room, and made note that the curtains were pulled close as compared to the others that were open wide. You could hear the sound of metal scraping inside and it made your skin crawl. Hurrying past that room you were glad you didn’t need to clean it up
Now the last thing you needed to do, the thing you had been putting off this entire time, the recharge station. Again, you were no trained mechanic, but surely it shouldn't be too hard to fix if they were assigning you to do it. Thankfully it was easy to find as your email told you the exact room it was in. You would find yourself in one of the maintenance tunnels, it was creepy down here but it was meant for only the use of the animatronics and the occasional maintenance person, it wasn’t made for good looks.
Eventually, after walking for what seemed like ages you find the broken recharge stations, it looked like every other one you've seen except this one was wrapped up tight with caution tape. Putting down the little box of tools you had brought with you, you took a step closer to inspect it in more detail. The door of the glorified charging can slid open as you approached it so that seemed to be at least working.
Taking a peek inside would show you a panel that could open up to what you could only assume was the guts of it. Cautiously taking a step inside the station you would pause for a minute, as if waiting for an electric shock but it luckily never came. Sighing in relief you would pop open the panel with surprising ease and began assessing what you could see. Inside were a lot of little delicate wires and lots of buttons and switches that meant absolutely nothing to you.
Okay… so maybe this would be a little bit harder than what you were anticipating. Why did they send you? Oh, right, you kind of over exaggerated your abilities on your resume. Grimacing at yourself for stupidly lying about something that could so easily be proven wrong. Whatever, it was fine! You were fine. This is just a larger, more complex version of your own phone, and what did you do to your phone when it started going on the fritz? Turn it off and back on again of course!
Looking over the buttons and switches in front of you, you somehow would locate the power button and reach out to hold it down. The charging station would beep once. Beep twice, then a final beep to tell you its power went out. That was easy enough, now it was time to take a step out and maybe assess any outside damage–
The door behind you suddenly whooshed close and you whirled around in shock. Quickly trying to finagle the door back open but it was firmly shut. You stood there dumbly in there, eyes flicking around for any sort of safety switch but all you could find was one warning on the inside of the sliding door, only visible if you were shut inside of it,
“Warning! Do not turn off power while inside. Station will lock for ten minutes as it reboots.”
Great! Wonderful! You couldn’t help but let out a pitiful cackle at your predicament. Who would even place the warning there of all places! Ten minutes, huh? Well, you better get comfy you guessed, patting down your pockets for your phone only to realize it was not there. Feeling your heart jump into your throat you would look out the large bubble of a window to notice you had left it on top of your tool box. Groaning in defeat you would slide down against the back. This was going to be the most boring ten minutes of your life!
After what you could only say was maybe a minute or two, you would feel something scratching from outside, making your blood run cold, slowly standing back up you would peek outside, though, there was nothing there that you could see. Everything was still in place, well everything except…
Your phone! What the fuck! It hadn’t fallen down as it wasn’t down there either, did somebody come through just to steal it? No, couldn't have, looking both ways you saw no retreating figure. Then where the hell did it go? Still caught in thought you pressed your back into the panel and let your head fall back to rest, but what caught your eye made you freeze.
What stared back at you from the dark were large glowing red eyes, and as soon as you locked eyes with it, it skittered away not unlike an insect would, but no insect you knew could laugh like that. Ok, ok, calm down. Whatever is out there probably totally just took your phone and knows that you're in here. It's fine! You're safe in here, and that's all that mattered right?
Suddenly the fucking creature dropped in front of the window to the station and the movement made you scream and slide further down.
“Naughty Naughty…” The thing would drum its fingers on the glass and look down at your, almost tauntingly. Though now that it was up close you could fully discern its features, and to your shock, it was nearly identical to the sun themed daycare assistant you had just met earlier that night, but this one had a more white and blue theme with a soft looking sleeping cap set on its head. The realization for you was quick to set in.
This was that other daycare animatronic that comment was talking about! But why was it still here? Why was there no information about it? You had so many questions but they all died on their way to your mouth, leaving you to dumbly look up at this animatronic in fear.
“Come on out now… It’s way past your bedtime…” It would continue to drum on the glass, tilting its head way further than a normal thing should be able to, eyes squinting down at you, making the red glow coming from it shrink with it. Its patience seemed to grow thin with you as the next thing it did was try to claw the station open with a force that made the entire object move a few inches, causing you to yelp.
“Leave me alone!! Fuck off!” You cussed it out, only adding to its anger as it would hit the side of the station, causing the noise to reverberate in the stall, hurting your head, “Stop! Go away!”
The animatronic would once again stand up to leer down at you, chuckling in a way that made your skin crawl, it lifted one of its hands to reveal what it held. Your phone! Standing up quickly, fear suddenly leaving your body as you make eye contact with it, “Hey you put that down! That’s expensive!” The animatronic obviously not expecting your reaction took a step back for just a moment before returning to its mocking stance.
“Come out…” It sneered at you, dangling the phone in the air, threatening to drop it.
“Woah woah woah! Hey! In case you couldn’t fucking tell, dumbass, I’m stuck in here! You can’t get me out, and I can’t get out. So put the phone down!”
This made the animatronic stop, faltering a little bit as it brought the phone to a more secure position. It would still look down at you with a sense of malice as it would lean its faceplate a little more closer to the glass.
“Naughty mouth on you… You should be punished…” Growling out its words through its voice box that sounded like it was in need for repair. You responded by flicking the glass with your finger which made it pull back, “Brat.”
“Are you going to leave me alone? I have a job to do y'know.” You asked but were met with silence as it dumbly stared at you. You rolled your eyes before continuing on, “Who even are you? I’ve never seen you before.”
This made the animatronic stare at you for a good long minute, it seemed to grow lost in thought but you had no time to analyze its reaction as it would suddenly turn away and disappear into the dark.
What the fuck?
What was that about? Leaning your entire body against the door you would try to peek through the side of the glass to see where it was going, but just as you did that, the door quickly slid open, making you unceremoniously drop to the ground with a heavy thud. Catching your breath you would sit up quickly, looking down the hall that the strange animatronic had left. Fuck. That. Shit. You decided as you picked up your tool box and phone, unlocking your phone to check the time but what you were met with was your notes app being open with the words “GET OUT” being typed in it.
Okay that wasn’t freaky at all! Thankfully for you, it was about 20 minutes before your shift ended, and it would probably take you that time to get back to the entrance, so you decided to cut your losses and just say that you ran out of time. Holding all of your things close to you, you took one more look down the hallway before sprinting the other way.
Your bed sounded so good right now.
