Summary
Two colossal martial nations, locked in war: Faerghus and Adrestia. What was it they needed to stay alive? Water? Food? Certainly. But what they needed most is life itself. Fighting in order to live. And living to fight. That was the way of their world, Fódlan.
Fódlan was a majestic and beautiful place, but its inhabitants didn’t get to enjoy it, spending their entire lives fighting. And those lives were a mere ten years, though most did not last the whole time. Those who did were honored with a ceremony called Homecoming. But for those who lost their lives before that time were honored by the offseers, specialized soldiers trained in not only combat, but music. Using their flutes, they played the tunes of their countries and watched as the motes floated away from their fallen comrades.
