Chapter Text
The sound of panic and confusion from the shooters became buried underneath the gunshots echoing throughout the food court. None of their attacks doing any significant damage to the figure knocking them down one by one. Soon, there was only one left.
Long since realizing that bullets do nothing to the sturdy freak before them, they opted to grab a nearby woman hiding behind a still intact display case. Now pointing the gun at her head instead of the approaching freak.
“Don’t move another step or this one gets it!” He threatens, holding the struggling woman even tighter and pressing the gun into her head, making her freeze up and fearing for her life. Advocaat, upon seeing her life in danger, stops continuing any further.
Relieved that the threat worked, the man proceeded to slowly approach the exit, still holding onto his hostage in case Advocaat dared to move.
But before he could make his escape, a blink and the man who was standing in front of him suddenly vanished. The robber had no time to react, or even see a hand make contact with his back before proceeding to fall to the ground, paralyzed.
The woman, along with the other hostages watched this in shock, quickly turning into relief as the sound of cheering filled the air.
Soon, the mall security and police arrived to handle the rest. Soldier 15, who had seen everything from his noodle stall, was in awe. That person is not only strong, but fast. Moving to attack so quickly it was like he teleported. Certainly, this is the type of fighter Sir Carmine is looking for to take care of all their enemies and revive the Red Ribbon Army once again.
No longer hesitating, #15 made another call.
After Advocaat was hailed a hero, Bulma was able to order some food for them to enjoy before leaving not too long afterward. The weather no longer as unforgiving as it was earlier during the day. Overall, a rather eventful day.
“So you have what it takes to be a hero after all” Bulma said. Playfully jabbing an elbow at Advocaat. “You scared me for a moment when you just let yourself get shot, y'know.”
“I had to show it was in self-defense,” Advocaat answered simply. “I wouldn't get away with it otherwise.”
“As if you need this much of an excuse to defend yourself against a group of shooters,” Bulma chided. “Look at you, you're bruised all over.”
“They do not hurt.” The Angel stated. “And the bruises will heal up quickly.”
“That's not the point,” Bulma argued, “You could've done more to defend yourself. I saw you moving faster than the eye could see back there. If you wanted, you could’ve dodged every single one of those bullets.”
“I believe we are now at your residence, Miss Brooma.”
“Hey! Don’t change the subject just because you don’t want to admit I’m right. And it’s Bulma!”
Getting to Capsule Corp, Bulma, had Advocaat bring in everything one at a time, explaining that the items needed to be treated with care to not break anything. It’s definitely not that she was annoyed with him and wanted to do this as a form of pettiness.
As Advocaat continued to move the items in one at a time, Gamma 1, who had just returned from one of his patrols, ended up spotting said Angel about to enter the building.
His data recognized Advocaat immediately, and he flew in to attack.
Advocaat, sensing something coming towards him, instinctively dodged and flew backward, leaving Gamma 1 to only hit the air.
Both of them stood in place, Gamma 1 holding a battle stance as Advocaat stood relaxed, looking at Gamma 1 with a slight questioning look, not understanding why he suddenly attacked.
“My data is correct,” Gamma 1 said. “You’re the one who’s responsible for destroying Dr. Bulma’s lab before. I must tell you that you are not welcome back here by the doctor’s orders. Leave now.”
Bulma, upon noticing Advocaat was taking a while to bring in the rest of the items, came out to check what was holding him, just to be met with the sight of him having a standoff against Gamma 1. Neither taking their eyes off the other.
She felt her panic rise, crap! She forgot that Gamma 1 usually returns to Capsule Corp around this time when he’s finished with his patrol. When he saw Advocaat, he must’ve mistaken that he was an intruder and pulled him into a fight. This won’t do, if they duke it out, not only will it risk the lab or even the rest of the building getting damaged again, but all of Bulla’s cute clothes which have yet to be moved will be destroyed too.
Running out of the house, Bulma prepares to yell for the two to “sto-“
“…Gamma?” Advocaat voiced suddenly. It was so sudden that Bulma lost her footing, proceeding to fall face first to the ground and slide near the two.
“...Oh come on!” She yelled, pulling herself out of the dirt. “You can’t even remember my name after correcting you so many times yet you for some reason knew his!? No one even told you his name!” Bulma complained, completely forgetting her panic from before.
Gamma 1 looked at her, confused. Advocaat doing the same, though not as noticeable.
“Dr. Bulma,” Gamma 1 called out to the fuming scientist, who now looked at him with annoyance still on her face.
“I believe he only called my name because he read my name card.” He explained.
“…oh.” Bulma fell speechless…
——————————
“So he was helping you out with some shopping? And even stopped a robbery at the mall?” Gamma 1 was a bit surprised hearing this, considering it was the same dangerous Angel from before doing all this.
“Yep, he agreed because he wanted to make Piccolo happy by doing something new while on Earth.” Bulma explained as she finished putting on one of the new outfits on a wiggling Bulla, quickly awwing at her little girl posing and showing off her cuteness.
“I see. Is there any reason you sent him back with a bunch of chocolates? From what my data suggests, aren’t those chocolates the same ones you bought to celebrate Valentine’s Day, Dr. Bulma?”
“Oh. No reason. He just did such a good job I figured he deserves a fitting reward.” Bulma replied. Smiling and giggling on the inside.
Gamma 1 easily detected her vitals rising, confused about what she could be thinking about.
“Now, since it’s obvious Trunks isn’t home, why don’t you help me with taking some cute photos of Bulla? Your eyes have a camera function, right?
“Uh, yes, I do have such a function. But,” Gamma 1 scans over the many pieces of clothing laid out on the floor. “Are you planning on having her try all of these?”
Meanwhile, Advocaat is walking in the city, holding some boxes of chocolates in his arms. The blue-haired lady’s words on his mind.
“These chocolates are popular every season for couples looking to show their love for each other. Make sure you give Piccolo the first box. That’s the most special one, got it?” Bulma.
“…I do hope he likes these.” He whispers to himself. His front bangs twitching a bit as if in anticipation.
As he continues walking, #15 appears nearby, this time not alone as Carmine looks over the Angel in the distance.
“This is the guy you were talking about?” Carmine asked.
“Yeah, he took out an entire group of robbers on his own. He also appeared to be resistant to bullets and moved at impossible speeds.”
“But you also said you saw him with Dr. Bulma. Have you forgotten she is with the enemy?”
#15 expected this, “Yeah, but it seems they weren’t closely acquainted.” He explained, “The whole time, the guy was calling her by the wrong name. Most likely a temporary hire.”
“Hm, still, I believe we need to get more information out of this one before we have him work for us. Wouldn’t want a repeat of last-“
“Why are you two following me?” The sudden appearance of a monotone voice right behind them caused the two men to nearly jump out of their skins. Shocked to find that at some point, the strange, most likely alien man had moved behind them without either of them noticing.
“W-whoa! Easy there good sir.” Carmine quickly recovered himself, becoming professional as he observed Advocaat more closely.
It’s hard to believe #15’s words that such a delicate looking male could be strong. But that speed just now confirms that the story wasn’t a complete exaggeration. If he can convince this one to work for him, then it would make the rest of his work much easier.
“We simply couldn’t help but notice that there was something unique about the air you give off. And wanted to get a chance to speak with you.” He said, buttering him up a bit. “Let’s find a more comfortable place to speak, do you happen to enjoy burgers?”
“…”
“Uh, Carmine, sir. Why is he just staring at us like that?”
“Shh. Let me handle this 15.”
“Are burgers not to your preference?” Carmine asked. “That’s alright, you can pick a place instead of you have other-“
“What are burgers?”
“…” Yeah…he’s definitely an alien, #15 and Carmine thought simultaneously.
“No matter. I have no time left to waste.” Advocaat said. “My lord is waiting for me. I have to prepare his dinner.”
“Wait! At least hear everything we have to say before you go.” Carmine requested, motioning for #15 to use force to stop Advocaat if necessary.
Advocaat, surprisingly does stop, looking at the two and waiting for them to speak.
“You see, we wanted to request your help in stopping an evil Demon King,” Carmine explains. “My colleague and I both previously worked at a pharmaceutical company, but it was destroyed by this evil being. No doubt this is only the beginning of his evil doings. And he must be stopped before he can hurt more people.”
Advocaat stayed quiet, slowly processing what Carmine said before replying, “This Demon King…would defeating him be considered a great feat?”
Carmine smirks, “Of course! You’ll be considered the hero of Earth if you can get rid of the Demon King for good. And not only that,” Carmine continued, taking notice of the chocolates in the Angel’s hands. “You’ll most certainly grab the attention of the one you desire most.”
“…!”
“So what do you say? Do we have a deal?” Carmine held out a hand towards the Angel who was in deep thought. Noticing the hand, Advocaat seems to have made a decision, raising his hand to give Carmine a shake.
After striking the deal, Advocaat finds himself seated in the back of a flying car. Carmine and #15, in the front driving the vehicle to their destination, both eager to finally have something good happen to them after all this time.
“You are quite good at negotiating, sir. He practically jumped at the chance.” #15 praised.
“Like I said before, everyone has something they want. This one in particular was easy to read.” Carmine explained.
“Really? I sure couldn’t tell.”
#15 continued driving towards the designated location, maneuvering past the tall mountains in front. During this drive, he noticed something odd in the rearview mirror.
“Hey, Carmine, sir?”
“What is it, 15?”
“I don’t know if it’s just me, but does the person we hire look kinda…angry?”
Carmine, hearing this, looks into the rearview mirror as well, and finds the man in the backseat staring through the glass window separating them and directly at the two. His expression isn’t that different, but his gaze seems to stay fixated on them, unblinking. Rather creepy.
“Hey, could we have said something that upset him?” #15 asked, nervous.
“That can’t be,” Carmine refuted. “That window is soundproof.”
Eventually, they made it to their destination, and #15 parks on top of a mountain where they could get a clear view of a waterfall and a quaint little house in the distance. Stepping out of the vehicle, Carmine points out the house in the distance.
“There, that’s the Demon King’s hideout,” Carmine explains. “Now's your chance to show us what you got, hero. Ready to prove yourself?”
“I am.”
“Good, we’ll be waiting here for the good news. So-!!!” Before Carmine realized something was wrong, he found himself raised in the air, the man he hired holding him up by the back of the neck.
“H-hey! What’s with you!?” #15 yelled, pulling out his gun and shooting at Advocaat, trying to get him to let go of Carmine.
As expected, they barely made him flinch, and he slowly turned his gaze towards #15. His grip on Carmine never loosened.”
“To think you two were going to make me do such a terrible thing.” Advocaat said.
“What do you mean? What’s terrible about stopping the Demon King?” #15 questioned, his brain thinking up 100 things per second on saving his boss.
“To think I wanted to do something worthy of my Lord’s praise, only to find that you two planned on having me hurt him.”
“!!!” His Lord is DEMON KING PICCOLO!? That’s when both #15 and Carmine knew…they messed up again.
“But luckily, I can still redeem myself.” Advocaat said, approaching #15 and easily disarming him before grabbing him. Shoving both men back into the car before proceeding to break all the handles, trapping the two inside.
“What are you planning!? Are you going to kill us!?” Carmine yelled, angry that things could go wrong again this quickly.
“Kill you? Of course not, I’m simply sending you two back to the city. After all…I know my limits.” Picking up the car with the two men trapped inside, Advocaat proceeds to aim and throw it in the direction of the city. The sound of the two mens screams slowly faded out as the car disappeared from view. He’s confident that with the angle he chose, they would fall directly where the humans said criminals go.
A few seconds passed with Advocaat simply standing where he was before picking up the boxes of chocolates he had placed on the ground earlier. His grip on them shook a bit.
“I…I…” His grip tightens a bit, slightly denting one of the box in his hands as a glint appears in his eyes.”
“I did something good and protected my Lord’s name.” He said to himself.
He had been worried all day that he wasn’t doing enough to fulfill his Lord’s request. But now that he’s gotten rid of individuals wanting to hurt his Lord, he has truly done something worthy of praise. Still shaking a bit from the excitement, the giddy Angel proceeded to fly off the mountain he was on, eager to tell his Lord how he spent his day.
Of course, his Lord was never wrong, this trip to the city was just what he needed.
